hi unmesh, there is also another way by making a selection first then convert it to a vector path by right clicking the selection then make work path then set the tolerance depending on how acurate or smooth you want the path to be. Then lastly make the path into a vector mask.

to go with this, if you want to cut something off the background, you select the subject, then you layer -> new via copy - and now you have a selection on its own layer and perfect around the edges. and the background you cut it from doesn't have an outline where it was.

I found out that when using select item tool, it makes a better job if you click on the blue background and then just flip the selection. Try it.

If you are looking for professional result use the pen tool,.... i was in the future and ... selection tool on 2045 still suck !! sorry

I make selection by quick selection and covert to path than make selection again to make a better selection big brain
