I recently had a situation with really a dark nose shadow on a guy without the smooth skin in your video. Thus, there's not only color but texture and noise to deal with. Perhaps you could do a video on such a situation! (I might have worked harder with frequency separation than I did) Thanks.

I'm learning lightroom and photoshop from scratch so I'm not quite ready to follow along but I have been saving these tutorials for when I am. I love you have to include the mistakes. I won't be including mine by choice but it's great to see how to quickly fix them when I do.

question, I make the selection with polygonal lasso tool and then go to select curves but it doesnt create a mask for my selection but just a new curve layer. This happens with the color layer. What am I doing wrong?

Great video, thank you, but the shadow is artificial. When it turns to real shadow, process will be way harder and no so straightforward.

I would try to automatically remove the edge transition from the shadow by extending the selection and working with smartobject filters

Does this work on regular face shadows? Like when light source is coming from the left side and the right side of the face is in shadow.

Your videos are always fakes. Never work on the real pictures. This one you made the shadow by yourself and then deleted it.
