Adobe Photoshop allows third-party plugins for several reasons:
Enhancement of Capabilities: Third-party plugins extend the functionality of Photoshop beyond what Adobe developers can anticipate or provide. These plugins can introduce new features, tools, and effects that enhance the software's overall capabilities.
Specialized Functions: Some tasks require highly specialized tools that may not be practical for Adobe to develop in-house due to their niche nature. Third-party developers can focus on these specialized needs and create tools that cater to specific industries or workflows.
Community and Ecosystem Development: Allowing third-party plugins fosters a community of developers and users who contribute to the ecosystem. This community-driven approach can lead to innovation and a broader range of tools and functionalities.
User Customization: Different users have different needs. Third-party plugins allow users to customize their Photoshop experience according to their specific requirements, making the software more versatile and adaptable to various professional fields.
Some third-party plugins are considered better than Photoshop's native tools for several reasons:
Focused Development: Third-party developers often focus exclusively on their plugin, allowing them to refine and optimize it extensively. This specialization can result in tools that perform better or offer more features than Photoshop's built-in options.
Innovation and Experimentation: Independent developers can take more risks and innovate rapidly. They can experiment with new ideas and technologies, sometimes leading to breakthroughs that larger companies might be slower to adopt.
User Feedback and Iteration: Smaller developers can often respond more quickly to user feedback, releasing updates and improvements at a faster pace. This agility can result in more polished and user-friendly tools.
Niche Solutions: Plugins can cater to very specific tasks or effects that may not be a priority for Photoshop's core development team. This means users can find highly specialized tools that suit their unique needs better than more generalized, built-in tools.
Overall, the combination of Adobe's robust platform and the creativity of third-party developers results in a richer, more versatile Photoshop experience for users.

No comment about the recent Adobe terms & conditions, Umesh you are a massive brand ambassador, I know it’s difficult for you as your whole career is invested with Adobe, however don’t forget about your audience that have supported you for many years. We are also invested in Adobe (or were) the downfall of Adobe would affect us all. It has become almost impossible to stay with Adobe now. Their practices on subscription & invasive access is just a step too far, their response was even worse.

As one of a multitude of your video learners, I am curious to know whether you’ve changed your primary method of dodging and burning to the utilization of black and white painting (and not curves) I’ve observed in at least two videos recently where you’ve not used the curves method you’ve taught and encouraged us to use over the years. Please let us know which is the best of the two methods. Thank you.

I use the Retouch4me plugins when I have dozens of photos to process. It does a pretty good job in most circumstances. If it was an important job for professional printing, then you are better being entirely manual, as sometimes you have to undo some of what the plugin did.

unfortunately these tools are unusable if you are a professional and you work on private portraits due to limitations of clients privacy in adobe terms. this is a big limitation in professional works, no adobe tools for private contents and this si so bad.

The truth is, no, but it doesn't matter. Most people don't care nor do they notice it. What they want is fast and cheap. Learn to master the AI so you can be one of the few with a job in the near future.

I use the retouch4me heal and dodge and burn. For the heal I’ll run it a couple times playing with the diff detection options and then clean up anything left after.
reply

No, it can't. By definition. Because retouching is an artistic effect, and computer algorithms are incapable of artistic expression.
Btw. AI doesn't exist.

Pffff....I have a problem with PIXimperfect videos, the more I watch, the more I see that I don't know Photoshop...Shouldn't it be the opposite :) :)

Retouch4me Heal does a much better job if you choose (manually) a full-lenght portrait. In this case Close-up portrait option is set by default.
