Too much telemetrics. Locking down the system to turn it into a walled garden in the near future. Making it more difficult to install other operating systems. Making it more difficult to install other default programs like browsers. Unfinished UI. More and more requirements to be signed in with a Microsoft Account to access features. Ending General Computing. Windows 10's problems but worse.
Right now most Linux and BSD are your only options (Mac protects your privacy from everyone but Apple).
And no I am not a Linux fanboy, but right now I am trying to learn how to get my Yeti Microphone and G600 mouse to fully work on a Linux distro enough that I can use it as my daily driver.
Most Every AV (including Defender). At this point it is like a race to see which AV company can ruin their AV and their user trust faster. You know things are bad when I cringe and say Microsoft Defender is one of the least offensive anti-virus available. I don't recommend it... it is least worst. Most of the others only work on an Enterprise Model. In short if your PC came with an AV, even if it is free uninstall it even if it means wiping your drive and buying a grey market windows key to install windows without it.

Shame on you for not warning us about windows and Mac itself when you do a subject like this. I would advice to avoid windows 10, 11 or higher if you can because of a lot of unwanted software installed, doubtful privacy issues and intrusive updates installing extra's you don't want or uninstalled before. Mac OS is even worse because it demands hardware updates(newer equipment) when they decide it is time. Enforcing you to buy newer computer versions by making older apps no longer available for older equipment. The acceptable alternative is Linux based: Q4os which has the least steep learning curve as it looks and feels like an older version of windows. Another plus is that it can run way faster on the same or older equipment. These days there is even an installer that lets you setup Q4os within windows and word besides it. At computer start you chose which operating system to start. This way you can ease into the change at your own speed. All all day use apps are available for the common computer user.

Sumatra PDF is way better, than the old school ADOBE tool, it's a shame that is not available on linux, but for windows users, is a great choice.
