X program here There are so many ab exercises that you can do to help you develop a deeply etched six pack stomach, but are they all truly good choices? In this video I cover the topic of weighted ab exercises and whether or not you should be using weight for ab workouts. The use of weights on exercises like crunches, rope pulldowns and ab rollouts is common, but is it right. It comes down to your nutrition first and foremost. If you can't see your abs right now and admit that your diet is not close to being what it should be, then you really should not concentrate on anything but your nutrition at the moment. If you can see your abs because you have low body fat from following a good diet plan, but they just aren't very sharp, then you may be a good candidate to include ab exercises with weight to your ab workouts. I show you just a few of the examples of weighted ab exercises that you can do to cause hypertrophy of the rectus abdominus. As I discuss, getting the rectus abdominus to grow will have the effect of creating 3-D abs as they push out while the linea alba and the tendinous linea transverse help to suture in the outline of the 6 pack abs or 8 pack abs you already have. Whether you have a six pack or an eight pack is going to be determined by how developed and wide your tendons are in your abdomen. That said, if you want to follow a complete diet and nutrition plan to get ripped six pack abs and build athletic muscle at the same time, head to and

Awesome Jeff, I have good Abs but wanted them to (pop) just a little more. Now I do hanging leg lifts to failure along with body weight abs and explosive movements. Along with weighted ab work. Thanks to you I've really got ripped and have been able to kind of -branch off- and do some of my own ab days. Why I'm I commenting if I have everything down to a tee then? I just wanted to say about the (how your abs lay there's nothing really you can do about that) that is really priceless info thank you again
Jeff and I'm going to really be added more of my weighted work to my programs.
Before I go what do you think about nitrate pills? I like them just for the fact that they give you harder rep pumps. What do you think of theses pills. (Ps I know not using any kind of alteration pills is not good for your heart, what about just once in a while) I'll use them probably 2/3 times a week.

What about women with diastasis recti, excess skin from pregnancy and after having kids, what can I do? I am lean and I eat very clean. I checked my body fat in dexa scan and I am 14% body fat. I can see my abs to the side and obliques and I have the muscles down to the pelvic area, but I can-t seem to see my abs. I use weighted abs exercise, I do the wheel, I do crunches and sit ups with weights. I even do the leg raises whilst hanging. My abs won-t pop. I-m cut and ripped everywhere else --- what can I do?

I've used weights for my abs exercises for 10 years and my abs do more than just pop out. It makes my mid section look bloated. I've gradually increased the weight I've used for my abs. Currently I'm using 35 kg (77 lbs) on my abs for around 20 reps x 2 sets doing crunches. I'm thinking if I hadn't used weights my mid section would appear sunked in rather than bloated, which is the look people prefer right?

Hey Jeff, I really love the way that you see this, I mean not just the abs, but how you explain with so much passion and dedication every single detail that we must know and it make su much sense, 'cause you try so hard to change the way we think about a exercise, workout, meals, nutrition, etc. And by doing that it's moooore more effective that saying do this do that and you're okay, no! I am really thankful.

Really like the 6 pack promise app. Has a huge range of excercises.
I would like it more if it had a seperate optionary training routine for a lower rep, weighted or resisted ab excercises that are typically trained 2-3 x per week. I'd rather go off this sort of training routine as oppose to using the higher reps and less rest days routine which the app seems to draws us towards.

I have -fake abs- meaning when I flex you can see my abs pretty clearly. However I actually have a huge gut in reality. I'm in really good shape but I can't get rid of my gut. I'm tired of faking it. I eat the way I'm supposed to. Not sure what else to do please help. If you don't believe me you can see what I look like on ig -knuckles_36

the problem with diet is the price of it. It isn't cheap to eat right, you could have two of the exact same product and the cheaper one isn't going to be as good for your body as the more expensive one. Unless a person is eating nothing but egg whites, veggies and chicken all day everyday it can be pretty pricey to earn tho body they want.

I think I heard you say in other video that Abs muscle are thin and they are not for hypertrophy. We should train them to be flat and strong to support the spine. I think the video title was ( How often to work out your abs. Maybe I didn't understand correctly: / or Do you mean that weighted exercises MIGHT make them Pop more?

Hey Jeff or anyone willing to give advice. I got a fat caliper recently and i used to calculate my body fat percentage which turned out to be around 9. However I still can't see my abs. Like not even 2 pack. I am 5'7- weighing around 170. I have been eating very clean. Let me know if you got any advice for me.
