5: 31 -my knees. they-re pretty much trash-? What-s his knee issue and how can noobs avoid it? I-m starting to get mild knee pain but am not sure if it-s because of squats/deadlifts or indoor trainer or indoor rower or running, as I added the first three recently, but running alone previously never gave me knee issues.

Jeff - Always appreciate your tutorials. I see you have/had a Smith Machine. I-m tempted to get one to consolidate some equipment in my home gym. The negatives of limited/forced range of motion have me questioning the Smith Machine but seeing one in your home gym makes me wonder. Thanks and take care.

I'm not really good at english, so anyone can explain it for me, please, so as I understand is he's trying to do 5 sets of 5-6 reps up to his biggest weight, then stay there and do 5 sets of 2 reps and then do 5 sets of 5-6 reps on the way down of weight, right?

Not Jeff's finest moment, BUT I give him props for not taking down the video.
Aside from a couple of videos his advice has been incredibly beneficial.
He's even helped me with a painful muscle imbalance which I remedied based on his advice.

I work a hard physical job, 70+ hours a week. I have some serious health issues. I do an upper lower split, 5-6 days a week in my garage. On leg day I do a glute warm up and squats and deadlifts are all I do. I feel like 8 sets of squats is pretty good.

Hey Jeff I know its 5 years later. but I just wanted to say that I admire this simple/sticking to the basics type of leg workout! After your 5 plate set of 2 would you recommend dropping to 3 plates and doing more hypertrophy after or no?

So I've always been a max 6 reps 3 sets & get to 12 in 2 weeks guy, then add 10 lbs but at my age 49 &15/16 I'm liking a change to this style. Heavier weight, slower +quality reps & when I can move up, just move. Now, own it at 8-10 -3 sets-

I do a variation of this workout for cycling, I replace the standard deadlift with Hexbar as I can do this with zero pain in my lower back, I follow this like you with the split squat, its very simple and works very well! all done in 40 mins.

It-s more than feeling the ground. If you have -cushion- type sneakers on then they absorb some of the initial drive. Riptoe covers this in a few of his vids. Wooden sole lifting shoes with ankle support are probably the best alternative
