Ab Workout Mistake (BLOATED ABS)

t get rid of the fat? Well, that-s because you-ll never be able to get rid of belly fat by doing ab workouts alone. Anyone that will tell you that is likely selling you a -shortcut- and isn-t qualified to be giving you workout advice (even if it is free) In this video, I show you how to stop that bloated abs look by learning how to breathe properly during your ab workouts. While you should exhale on the exertion of any ab exercise, you don-t want to blow out (meaning, allowing your belly to protrude or extend during the exhale. Instead, you want to be sure that you cinch your belly down as you exhale. This will feel a bit awkward if you are not used to it but you will learn how to engage your transverse abdominus and get better a flatter stomach as a result. This becomes more difficult depending on the difficulty of the ab exercise in question. For instance, on a basic crunch (as shown in the video) you will find that you will have much better control of your abs and will be able to learn this skill a little faster. Once you have it, transfer it to harder and harder ab exercises and see if you can still maintain that correct breathing. But that-s only half of the equation. Others will tell you that if you want to avoid a thick waist or blocky abs you should not train your obliques. They will say that thickened oblique muscles will give you a blockier torso and not allow you to have a trim waistline. That is bad advice. If you want to have a tapered looking set of abs you will have to train your obliques. The orientation of the muscles is such that it will give you the visual tapering effect that you want to frame in your six pack abs. That said, all of this is nullified by an inattention to your diet and nutrition plan. If you insist on eating bad foods and don-t pay attention to what you eat then you will never have low enough body fat to help you see your abs. This applies to your obliques as well. In order to see ripped abs, it starts and ends with your nutrition. That said, the right combination of ab workouts and diet plans will get you a great set of abs. The 6 Pack Promise app from ATHLEAN-X is the perfect way to get started down that path. As the top rated ab workout app in the app store, you will find it is exactly what you-ve been looking for to get you started. Six Pack Promise on Android - If you are more serious about your training and want to develop more than just ripped abs then you want to head to and get the complete ATHLEAN-X Training System

Left over pizza for breakfast. Love having really great genetics and having trained regularly for over 20 years. Lol. That said, we all have struggles and our own body demons. Never compare yourself to anyone else. Focus on you and be the best you, not beat the guy at the gym. To many, I-m lacking, to others I-m a goal. To me, I-m were I want to be and my life is balanced, most of the time. This guy is awesome. One of the few on social media who is worthy of his followers. Keep it up! Being here and learning is the first step and an ongoing one. And please, love who you are and the body you-re in, even when you know it-s not perfect or the way you may want it. Just never give up and be patient.

The idea if I'm understanding correctly is that when we exhale, we lower the internal pressure inside the torso, relaxing the diaphragm which in turn creates more room for the internal organs, relaxing the core, which leads ultimately to a kind of cheat pattern where we use the added leverage to raise the torso up. Whereas if we ensure that the core is braced before commencing the crunching motion, we are correctly maintaining adequate tension throughout the pressure differential of the breathing motion, thereby ensuring that the abdominus are as engaged and contracted as possible.
Is this correct?

So do vacuums while doing ab exercises.
I had someone tell me yesterday that you shouldn't do ab exercises at all, because it just makes your outer belly fatter.
I just said ok, because that makes no sense to me.
But what does make sense to me is a person's belly gets fatter by doing ab exercises because they are doing too many or adding weights when they are first starting out because it can cause cortisol levels to rise; which makes our bodies store fat around our midsection to protect us.

To anyone who might wonder about how this works; it is about activating an abdominal muscle inside your body called the TVA (transverse abdominal muscle. This muscle should be activated through sucking in while exhaling, breathing through the chest afterwards keeping the tension. This will train the TVA with every ab training. This muscle is also trained during the -vacuum training-.
This is just researched by me on the internet, so correct me if Im wrong

When I discovered that -Vshred- is copying Jeff and making mistakes during filming, one MUST realize that Jeff has credentials behind his name rather then -celebrity coach-. Jeff, you rock man. Final note. the early morning leaning crunch at the bed side can be done as you walk or drive etc. It is my favourite for flattening the anterior abdoninace (belt muscle) and you learned about it here with Jeff.

The total purpose of core training is to tighten the structures that make up the trunk from back to front. thereby - cinching down and tightening the waist-. Core training. diet always the key. breathing out or in won't really do much maybe create an isometric. Genetics. work. diet. I did vaccums for yrs and only a change in diet showed some abs. not the breathe work!

For the love of God. People a complicating this video so much on this comment section!
Just breathe out while tightening your waist when you're on the active part of your abs exercises and breathe in when you relax.
That's all. This is very basic. Any abs manual teach this kind of breathing. It's standard in any core exercise.

also you don't breathe with your stomach breathe with your lungs and your lungs are in your chest took a running class when I was younger and they would teach us breathe in thru the nose out thru the mouth and that will help you avoid stomach breathing its a very common mistake and most people dont even know they do it
