Are cheat meals good or bad for weight loss & fat loss while cutting. Can a bodybuilder get a way with cheating? How often should you do a cheat day and what should you do before & after to continue losing weight. Is there a limit to what you can eat? How much junk food can you eat once a week without killing gains? Change Your Mindset 1: 25 Change your diet if you are not happy with it 1: 49 Eat for your goal 2: 26 Indulge Responsibly 2: 54 Closing Thoughts 3: 48 Youve been working your butt off in the gym, and your friends just invited you out for pizza and beer. Is this the cheat meal that will help you reset and save your sanity? Is this one indulgence going to help fight off cravings and give you more willpower to continue a successful diet? Or are you asking for trouble? Does eating a cheat meal only make you hungrier, cause you to binge eat, and make it impossible for you to get the results you're after? That's exactly what Ill talk about in todays video. The Term Cheat Meal Using the term cheat meal is inherently bad because by definition, a cheat meal is something better than what youre currently eating. If you need a cheat meal every week then the diet that youre eating Monday through Friday is somehow unappealing, less interesting, and tasteless, which sets the stage for temptation. This is a classic mind-over-matter scenario: When you have a bad outlook on your weekly meal plan, when you believe that what youre eating now is a sacrifice, then youre more likely to give in to temptation. Youll put yourself under unintentional and unnecessary stress. Youll resent your diet. It wont be long before you fall into the slippery slope from one harmless cheat meal to one junk food-packed cheat day. When you dont like your diet, you are at risk for throwing in the towel, regaining some or all of the weight you lost. You could even put on more. In other words, hating your diet and wanting to over indulge in a cheat meal is going to ruin everything youve accomplished. Change Your Mindset So what can you do to avoid falling off the bandwagon? How can you enjoy your diet and not have a need for that weekly cheat meal? You need to change your mindset. First, realize that this is a marathon, not a sprint. The best way to look at your eating habits is to envision them as a life-long journey, not a short-term destination. You dont want short-term results, so get out of a short-term mindset. Next, if you arent happy with your diet, change it. Many people make the mistake of eating bland and tasteless meals because they think that is their only option for weight loss. When you have muscle on the mind, chicken breasts, brown rice, and broccoli isnt the only muscle-building meal you have to eat. If youre eating the same thing day-in and day-out, no wonder why youre getting tempted by pizza, burgers, and fries. The solution? Find healthy recipes: There are plenty of recipes out there that fit in with your current diet and fitness goals, and taste amazing. You can even find dessert-like recipes that are packed with protein and low in sugar. Finally, remember to eat for your goal. Base your eating habits on your long-term goal. Maybe your diet allows a cheat meal. Ask yourself: Do you want to just look a bit better? Or do you want to be in fitness model shape? If youre not trying to get cut and shredded to be on the front of Mens Health, then a cheat meal might be okay. Know Yourself With that said, if youre not after that Spartan physique, that still isnt a good enough reason to indulge in several cheat meals per week. The truth is that cheat meals could work really well for some, but not so well for others. This is tied to will power. Think about how you respond when you see a big bowl of chips placed on a table. Can you eat just a few, and walk away satisfied? Or do you dive into an endless hand-over-hand motion of stuffing your face? If a cheat meal causes you to lose your mind and eat tons of junk food then you may be better off staying away from cheat meals altogether. Again, to give yourself the idea of indulging, try super tasty diet-friendly meals. Protein powder pancakes is an excellent example of a food that tastes like dessert but wont throw you off-track. If you're the type of person that can control yourself and has a history of staying on course during your diet, then indulge responsibly. Use your cheat meal as something to look forward to. Use it for motivation to stick to the diet. Think about how youve responded to diets in the past and set yourself up for success. Closing Thoughts Overall, everyone is

After doing keto for a month, I started intermittent fasting and acv diet plan. I have cheat meals whenever i need to (stress. and anxiety) but this is not frequent. i just dont want to feel I am forced to do something i dont want. I have managed to keep off the weight and I keep on losing weight. The motivation and mindset of Gravity transformation is really on point. Dont make it seem like a dreaded task to do. Take baby steps but dont stop. Keep going no matter how slow the progress and eventually it will feel like a normal lifestyle to you. I am 46kg on average and 52 in height. What I want is to shed my body fat percentage because I am already light bordering underweight. Cheat meals or days added a bit of body fat. But I am happy with my body now.

I'm on a weight loss journey and have lost 10 pounds in 5 weeks. However, I've stalled on the same weight for 6 days now. I decided today is going to be the day I just take a break and eat whatever I want.
I had half a bag of Lays potato chips a candy bar, a cup of mousse from the Walmart bakery and 8 taquitos. I ate it all before 9am and I'm back on track tomorrow.
As long as it's a planned day and not an accidental slip off of your journey there's nothing wrong. One day of eating unhealthy food won't hurt you.
I probably won't do this again for another few months

Ive been doing Omad for a few weeks. Now my daily schedule is working out in the morning(nothing crazy, just started lifting) and jogging half a mile. I then eat my meal for the day of mostly veggies and protein with a little bit of fats from dark chocolate and nuts. About 1200 cals. Then go to school, get home and walk 5 miles. I need to know if Im exercising enough, too much and if Im having enough calories. All of this is to lose body fat and get skinnier so I can focus on building muscle. Im 17, 190lbs and 511. Thank you!

I think there is some valuable informations in this videos: finding good recipes, thinking of a diet as a lifetime habit etc
However, we all (or most of us) love eating those junk foods like pizzas and burgers. In my opinion, no food can replace a good pizza! I just have to say that having a cheat meal every week is a bit too much and we should use it as a treat.
For example, if you reach some of your goals (weight objectives) you could have a big cheat meal as reward; )

I indulge a bit on Friday and Saturday evenings yet I can easily return to the low cal, low carb diet I'm on the other five days. I've been doing this for 3 months. I don't resent the diet I'm on. I just take some time to enjoy things like steaks, burgers, pizza, etc, but in smaller portions than I used to eat, and I almost never eat fries or bread.

I can't cheat. I stay on my diet. but if I feel like if I need to eat I grab an avocado or find a good healthy substitute for what I'm craving.
