7 Fitness Myths Completely Busted With Science Purpel: You should do a video on Phytic acid and other harmful plant based chemicals that occur in them naturally as defence against being eaten. As someone on the Carnivore diet adhering to mainly high vitamin and mineral content food. High Fat. Around 70-80%. These plant chemicals are one of the main reasons to not eat alot of plant life. You can get all the nutrients needed easily without em. Many organ meats have all nutrients needed. As well as raw milk from grassfed cows. And organic eggs from pastuer raised chickens. So plant life and the many chemicals occuring in them naturally would be something Id love for you to look into as my favorite fitness/nutrition youtuber.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the video. Interesting summary. My own medical doctor, who is a qualified nutritionist also, recommends ACV for the purpose of increasing stomach acid production in people eating a vegan diet, although my doctor is not a vegan himself. Apparently water with lemon juice has a similar effect when either are consumed just prior to eating. Did this effect come up in any of your reading of the literature? If it's true it may improve nutrient uptake through better digestion for people eating plant based.

Cold Water Doesn't Do Shit, Yeahhhhh. Tell that to all the Elite Strongmen and other Athletes and to Wim Hof (The Iceman. You should really be careful what you believe from, ''studies'' and know where they are based of in the first place. Most studies are done on a sort time period, paid by people who want you to find certain results and/or are done on a handful of people or just not the right people. That's why you find 100s of studies that say something is bad and 100s that say it isn't, it's just what are you looking for.

Jeff you talked about alcohol blunting post workout protein synthesis. Did the study specify when it was consumed in relation to the workout? I've wondered the smartest time to consume for those of us who weight train. My general rule is never on a workout day, for that protein synthesis justification. But once alcohol blunts the protein synthesis signal, does it return to what it otherwise would be, or would that only happen after the next workout and/or meal? Thanks

Are fruits and grains really an irreplaceable source of nutrients though? If someone is eating a generous amount of a variety of vegetables, some nuts and seeds, fatty fish like tuna and salmon, some red meat, and some occasional organ meat are they missing out on something? That's pretty much my diet although I do eat a serving (occasionally two) of fruit a day and I will eat rice maybe 2-3 times a week but avoid most other grains except for a weekly cheat meal.

Jeff Lets talk SUSHI Youre always eating sushi in your vlogs, and I have recently developed cravings for it quite regularly. I was wondering if you could do a video on the nutritional value behind sushi that includes things such as protein content, and which types are healthiest and/or give you the most bang for your buck. Or would this simply be considered another food that bodybuilders should try to shy away from and not be incorporated into ones program.

Overall great video Even though I knew some of the facts already it helps to hear it again and with science based studies behind it. I find that in fitness and in the health industry people over complicate certain things and make them seem important like the vinegar example you had or HIIT. But overall a lot of the new stuff is not statistically significant enough to add to your daily routine. Cant wait for the next video

It's definitely not water weight for me. I've been on keto for almost 2 years now. It's easy to maintain compared to anything else I know and it's reduced my body fat percentage even before I started working out again. On top of that there are other health benefits besides body composition like the fact that ketones are a much healthier energy source in many ways than glucose.
