TRAVEL WITH US TO HONG KONG Authentic Food Reviews Victoria Wong: Egg tarts are originally from Portugal (pastel de nata. They then got to Hong Kong (former British colony) via Macau (neighboring island that used to be a Portugese colony. And so now there are many different egg tarts: bruleed with a flakier, buttery crust is a pastel de nata. An egg version with a denser, almost short-bread like crust is a HK-version. There are also milk versions (no egg yolk) and now flavored versions (like matcha or sesame.

Kiwis are originally from China. They used to be called Chinese gooseberries but the name was changed for marketing reasons. New Zealand renamed them Kiwi Fruits because their skin looked like the indigenous Kiwi bird. It also helped marketing the fruit for export to other countries from New Zealand. The probably tasted so good because they were native to China or maybe were a different kind of kiwi

If only I watched this earlier I wouldve strongly recommended you to go Kam wah cafe. They do one of the best pineapple bun and eat tarts. The unique thing with them is that they have an extra thick crust on top that gives it an extra layer of texture also you are right they, you can get the pineapple bun with butter, which they can serve. If you visit my IG, youll find it; )

Based on the reporting on rampant use of gutter oil, contaminated food supply, and unchecked pollution in asian countries, I seriously would not trust anything to eat in asian countries. I will cook my own food myself when I visit. If you anyone reading this searched for news reports or documentaries on this, you would seriously feel sick to your stomach after watching it.

Guide on egg tarts. There are 2 types of egg tarts. One is called the Portuguese egg tart. They usually have a different looking yellow/egg part-it looked more cooked. The other type is called a Chinese egg tart. You ate a Chinese egg tart-they look at little nor glossy/less cooked. If you dont understand, you can look them up in google and you will are the difference.

Egg tart is originally portuguese, in England it's called custard tart. It's gone from here to there (UK) and from there to HK with the british community. Portugal is kinda egg-recipe nation. It's definitely sweeter than the ones you're having there, things in Asia tend to have way less sugar (thank goodness. Thank you for this vlog, it's awesome

Are you there for the volume. hk seminar? Other than the bakery items, your food choices were pretty poor. Mongkok is where the good food is at. Street food is the best food. Try the dim sum and cha chan tang breakfasts. Milk tea is HK's specialty, goes well with your egg tart. My favorite bakery item is the wife cookie AKA melon cookie.

Hay guys Welcome to HK Weather has been good so far Wanna check out Tai Po Waterfront Park. It's free. A gigantic park that people go for pleasure cycling and jogging. Also a city thing to take the train to get there. If you take the train, get off at Tai Po Market station. Should get there while the weather is agreeable.

Kiwis are so gigantic there, cause China only orders the big ones, and before they get shipped to China(from NewZealand) they have to be checked extra carefully, because China only buys the best of the best ( I worked in a Kiwi packhouse for a while, I know all the Kiwi secrets: D)
