Have UNEVEN Lats, Pecs or Biceps? Watch This. (How to Fix Muscle Imbalances) Delabeled: I realize this is a 6 month old video but I have an issue where my left peck is fuller/thicker/larger than my right peck. (Muscle wise) My tricep on my right side is also slightly smaller than my left. My left lat is slightly smaller than my right lat. (Right side is my dominate side) Here is the weird thing though. When doing 1 armed push ups I can do them noticeably easier with my right hand than my left. I video my training sessions pretty often and I use to have an imbalanced form when doing dips (tricep targeted dips) in which my left arm wouldn't bend as much and I would lean more towards my right side. I have since corrected this but I can't seem to figure out why my right Tricep AND Pectoral muscle is smaller than my left even though it seems to be the stronger side. For chest I have been doing mostly Isolateral work using gymnastic rings and only just started doing bilateral work 2 weeks ago with 1 handed push ups. Any thoughts on why the size difference? It's really got me stumped. Is my left peck somehow compensating for my left lat in some way or something else entirely?

I have very minor scoliosis, not severe enough to require any treatment. Still, my left lat is definitely not as developed as my right. My right lat, aka my dominant side, can be flexed much harder and I can feel and see the muscle much farther down my back and side. I can hardly flex my left lat properly, it doesn't go down nearly as far and I really have a hard time getting a mind muscle connection with it. Is this due to scoliosis or just me favoring my dominant side? When I do pull ups I always feel more tension on my right side even when trying to shift it to the left.

Sometimes it's about the framework too. I have scoliosis (so much more common than people think) with rotation at the top of my spine. A lot of exercises feel uneven from left to right, which makes sense because my frame is not even. I focus on the mind to muscle connection as best as I can and activate the lagging side just a fraction earlier, which helps me address it. But when it comes down to it, I just try to remember that my skeletal system is not completely symmetrical. So of course my delts won't be perfect either.

Hey Jeff what if you have an unstable shoulder? Like a dislocated shoulder and no surgery done. I dislocated my left shoulder and I leaned to deal with it. But I been doing bodybuilding for about 5 years now I notice my left lower side pec is not fully developed like the right. Also I notice my left biceps, tricep are smaller and I don't get sore as I do with my right. So I was thinking is it because my shoulder is unstable? Should I get surgery? I do isolated workouts but noting.

Tried some of these techniques and they help much more than i though they would I had a shoulder mobility issue which caused my right side to grow a lot larger than the left. Now that problem is fixed i was still getting more fatigued/better pump on my bigger more dominant side, after flexing my smaller side between sets holding for 10-15 seconds made the mind muscle connection crazy good, great video mate

Good video, Jeff I want to add some things, also. These, so called imbalances, especially when considering only visual assymmetries, could be deceiving or due to architectural and anatomical variations between both sides. If motor neuron firing between both sides, truely is the reason for these assymmetries, then a unilateral exercise for the desired body part, could be beneficial.

Jeff - appreciate all your content boss I graduated with my BS in Kinesiology, concentrating on exercise science and rehabilitative and therapeutic exercise so its always sick to have a background in all you say Quick question/request: could you do a similar video with unbalanced shoulders? My right shoulder sits higher than my left and I can feel it impacting some workouts. Thanks man and keep it up

Would this carry directly over to legs as well? I have a very stubborn right calf after knee surgery where I didn't mind recovery enough. so I'm fighting a calf that is around 30% weaker than the other. Which in turn has carried over to quad and hamstring strength, where the weak calf side has a stronger thigh and vice versa. it's really silly, but I want to get that balance under control again.

I have pretty bad imbalances every where haha. my whole upper right side of my body is noticeably bigger then my left side, that is just from working a very physical job everyday, then my left leg is jacked, because theyre my genetic gifts, but my right leg almost has no muscle because I broke my femur and tore all my quad and hammy and cant gain muscle. Im working on balancing out though ha
