THE BEST PIZZA? Supplements For Powerlifting Road to The British Champs - Ep. 11 John Doe: You're wrong on a few points. There is enough scientific evidence to suggest multivitamins, glucosamine and fish oil are effective in their desired purpose. And BCAAs really aren't necessary. If you get enough dietary protein you really don't need BCAAs, so it's not really a case of oh hey let me take it just in case because the science is still on the fence. It is well established you do not need BCAAs for MPS, recovery, or anything else really, as long as enough daily protein is consumed. And they aren't cheap, maybe you get them free due to your sponsorship, but most people are better off using that money to buy food.

wouldnt it be better for your body to skip the water cut and just get to the weight you want for meet day? seems like that would put extra stress on your body and mess with your electrolytes etc. and doing that so close to meet day doenst seem fun and is a bit of distraction. I understand why people do it for body building and photos. but for lifting it jsut seems like a potential f-up waiting to happen

Getting 140/150 grams of protein from whole foods is not difficult at all, especially for someone who eats as many calories as you do. If you just ate 3/4 balanced meals a day you would easily hit your protein requirement without even trying. You're way over hyping tye effectivness of creatine too, you might, at best be able to squeeze out an extra rep or two where you wouldn't be able to usually.

Hey Matt, have you ever tried using D3 or Mg supplements? Those are the only two I've ever tried that made an obvious difference. Vitamin D3 didn't really affect performance noticeably, but I just felt better overall. However, Mg did lead to a small but noticeable strength increase fairly quickly (a few days. Multivitamins don't really provide adequate doses of either.

Question - Why dont you switch up the order you do your squat, bench, and deadlift? Seems like you are always gassed when you get to deads and was just wondering why you dont change the order to be more fresh for different exercises. just a bodybuilder trying to get some insight on powerlifting, lol. Thanks

Hey Matt I have a question. I used to play hockey for years and subsequently have bad knees from injuries, started squatting again but my knees always give out before my legs. What would you suggest I do for something like this? Use more of the leg presses vs actual squatting?

sick intro for the weight lifting, with your 2 squat 230kg you speed was still pretty good, I find with rpe 9 & above I slow down alot (in the rep range 2-5 anyway. Is this just individual difference or do you think I should work on technique?

Hi, I was under the impression you should only take creatine for like (as an example) 8weeks at a time, because your body gets used to it? (therefore its use is pointless) Is this wrong? can you take creatine longterm? Thanks
