For anyone who wants a general yet effective rep/set range:
If strength is your goal, do 5 sets of 5 reps using a weight that makes you struggle on your last set. 1-8 reps is generally accepted as strength building.
If mass/endurance if your goal: increase reps beyond 8, 10-12 reps is a good start. You will obviously use a lighter weight. I'd personally do 3 or 4 sets of 10-12 reps.

he moves his head a little sometimes in the pushes, try not to do that to get the best results, you'll get more results if you keep your entire body still, that's why to get form correct, start with lighter weights until your prepared to push it to the max with heavier weights, whilst keeping proper form. great video though.

My goals are very simple and frustratingly difficult.
Seven months ago I shattered my left upper humerus and shredded the rotator cuff. After long recovery I'm getting better but I need serious exercise to rebuild the left deltoid. It's been painfully slow.
This should really help.

Do these exercises only target your delts? Because I don't want my traps to grow at all as I'm trying to attain that broad-shouldered, v taper look with a solid 6 pack and low body fat %.

Funny that you state that you shouldn't do front laterals above your shoulders. Check out Arnold's Pumping Iron where he does them in the movie.

Every time I do the first shoulder exercise my shoulder makes a cracking noise. It doesn't hurt but it does feel right. Should I be worried?
