Almost all of the beginner programs I've found have very low weekly volume. But if you look at results of people who have taken these programs, you see great strength gains, but little to no muscle size gains. And yet it seems that most of the people recommending these programs, at least the ones with great physiques, never actually followed them, but instead did body part splits with high volume when they were starting out. What did you do when you were starting out?

I'm following stronglift but i'm doing 3x8 and not 5x5. Is this still beneficial u think? Been going to the gym for olmost 2 months.
