Can Anyone Really Bench Press 225 In 1 Year? Hasan: bruh i feel like i was born for this because when i started i weighed only 115 lbs at 5'11 prolly like below 10% BF (RIP) fast forward 6 months i'm 170 with about 13% BF I made SERIOUS gains, people in my school think i'm on roids because i look massive in a tank and used to be tiny af. I guess you just end up gaining 55 pounds of mostly lean muscle mass in 6 months when you force down healthy 4000+ calories everyday and train like a maniac. Strength wise, i'd say i made good progress for 6-7 months, i'm benching 190 max and started with a 120 max so not bad at all! I'd say I can probably hit 225 for at least 5 reps in 5-6 more months; although my progress has slowed down QUITE a bit.

I've been training for 13 months now, I was very skinny when I started (bodyweight 123 pounds/56kg) and I could only bench 105 pounds (48kg) for 2 reps max. Now after over a year of training I can bench 210 pounds (95kg) for 2 reps. If I really pushed it I could maybe hit a 225 1 rep max, but I dunno. I now weigh 145-150 pounds (68-70kg) so obviously a skinny guy like me isn't going to be able to rep out 225 for 10 within 12 months of training, that's unrealistic. But some who weighs 190-200 pounds (85-90kg) might be able to do it 10 reps within a year.

I'm 15 and I've been working out for a few years. Off and on. (I really just did random stuff) 9 months ago I bench 110. 2 months ago when I was 14 I benched about 160, I just recovered from an injury then. I now bench 190. I'm 5'7- and I weighed 128 at the time. That was a week ago and now I weigh 137, and I was starving myself at the time for weightlifting. (Everything is in pounds)

I guess my bench progress has been lagging. My body weight has gone from 145 to 165 at 6ft (about 20% bf to 16%) in the past year and a half. My bench/squat/deadlift meanwhile have gone from 135/175/205 to 205/295/415. Is this type of progress normal? I'm thinking that the reason why my deadlift is good but my bench sucks is because I have long arms.

I've been training for about 5 and a half months, I started at 127 now I'm 145 (18 pound gain) my bench started at 75 x8 now I'm benching 135x8. I feel like I'm making good progress but I'm not too sure. My goal is to reach 225 after another 6ish months. is this possible i feel like it is but again, im not sure.

Of course anyone can bench 225 in A year some guys do 225 from beginning like I did when 16 I started at 200 pound bench or so really 235 ain't much and if anyone is train properly add 5 to 20 pounds a week on last set reps you can add 100 pounds in a year easy simple to do too

You guys think you have it bad im 5 10 188 worked out over 10 years only bench 215 barely benching and push-ups are my weakness I can do pull-ups with three plates though
Edit i wonder if its because of my pectus excavatum birth defect?

I worked out 5 months and I was only hitting 185 for 6 reps on a crappy bench set then I didn-t even work out for 5 months after that - but after being in a actual gym for 4 months again now I-m hitting 240 for 1 at 182lbs
