Smoking Weed May Boost Workout Performance Craigs: When I worked out in San Diego at Golds Gym in Pacific Beach between 1994-2001 I would literally smoke 2-4 bongloads before my workout and again after. I would also smoke several bongloads before running Torrey Pines Trail up and down. During this time I was the strongest and fittest in my life. Granted I was in my 20-s but I found Marijuana helped me focus on my weight training along with my running.
Some of the most memorable times were when I would be at Golds Gym seeing many of the people that were on the cover of Muscle Fitness Magazine working out next to me. Many times I would be working out next to Junior Seau who was a great guy. RIP Junior -

I love cannabis alot and also love the gym. I started smoking when state legalized it 2 yrs ago. For me i noticed it killed my energy. Im jealous of anyone who it doesn-t affects like that because i love it. But being in tear one shape gives me more benefits. Hard choice As of today i will get off it. I wrote this for those that feel the same. Most comments for cannabis and workout people say it helps them. So I wrote this for those it does affect like me. Cheers - everyone!

I smoke weed regularly, and I work out regularly. I have noticed going to the gym high is great because when I lifting or do some type of intense movement I don-t feel as much pain when tryna fight muscle fatigue and break through plateaus, but I will say it is harder to work out when you have smoke to much because it-s hard to keep your motor skills in check so it can be dangerous and could leading injury but to each his own everyone is different

Once I overcame the munchies I was able to lift heavy in the gym. if you can obtain specifically Sativa instead of indica you'll have a better time lifting. Sativa is more of a mental high instead of a body high.
ALSO if you have a hard time doing slow concentrated lifts marijuana helps so much because I have a hard time slowing down. I'm always so anxious and want to just get my work out over and done with smoking slows everything down.

I am a Medical doctor aspiring to be a surgeon one day. I do smoke marijuana. I dont smoke marijuana before my duties or work or gym. I use it for recreation and as a reward kind of thing after i am finished with my work, studies and gym for the day.
Also, since i have night shifts being a Doctor, marijuana helps me sleep after my night duty. So it helps with my gym recovery and my morning sleeps.

I don't get good quality workouts when I'm high, but I definitely smoke at night before bed and it helps me sleep better. I actually have a prescription for medical bud for spinal injuries I sustained in a car accident, and it helps me relax and deal with discomfort too. Imo weed is an individual thing and it affects people differently. Do what works best for you.

Truth is ban alcohol, legalize weed, little known fact the zulus took marajuana mix with bull sperm right before there battle with the British.

Late response. I find I get a much stronger mind muscle connection after smoking, I ran a test; I trained the same muscle group once while high and again while not high and being high gave me a much stronger mind muscle connection

I found a part of smoking weed that helped me make gains was that I would get munchies and just eat tons of food, therefore helping recovery and bulking. I would never smoke before/after a tough workout though.

Off topic, I'm trying to find homeboy's retro 90s soda cup pants. On topic, I smoke a little sativa-ish strain (super mild though) and I kill my work out! Indica would have me down for the count
