How far can you swim with a 0. 5L scuba diving tank? Baywatch diving tank test - Christian Wedoy
video description
volyme of air increase and decrese with preasure.
when you go down under water, the preasure increases with deapth.
Lungs are sensative organs that can break, think of them like baloons.
If you take a full breath at depth and fill your lungs with air, it will expand when you ascend.
if you hold your breath it might break your lungs and cause Air embalism. (air in your bloodstream, due to dammage to your lungs)
some studies have shown that lungs can break on acsends as little as 70cm, when breath is held.
For you idiots out there that still will use your new dangerous toy, not knowing about this.
NEVER HOLD YOUR BREATH! always breath normally. (rule no1 in diving)

With a monofin i can dive 75 -100m without spare air especially if you go slowly. We used bottles like that for 100m diving at full speed.
Heres a few questions though:
1. Air consumption doubles at 10m depth
2. Air consumption is greatly depending on speed
3. what good is a bottle for you if you can use it for a couple of minutes before its finished.
For refilling you need a diving air compressor (oil free air) or a bigger useful bottle
4. for use in free water they are a big safety risk especially for people who dont know about diving THIS IS SCUBA gear
5. Take some time to learn how to use a monofin otherwise you are better off with normal fins

UUHH that's so enough for me! I cant hold my breath for longer than 10 seconds and 10 second is never enough to enjoy underwater. I love swimming so much, even though I'm a very good casual swimmer, my breathing is awful. 100m x 2 if I heard correctly, 200 meters without needing to get up to the surface is amazing. I have a merfin as well but never get to enjoy because of the suffocation I get. I know i wont be a mermaid but I think this is an excellent product for beginner divers/ underwater swimmers. By all means all I will be doing with it is casual relaxing swimming and discovering beneath the water. Thanks for this tutorial. :)

I have often looked at these and thought they might be fun to add to snorkelling equipment. But TBH I think what with all of the safety issues, and the fact that I can swim >40m on one breath without fins. .. I am glad I watched this first. .. and read the comments. I didn't realise it was so easy to damage your lungs. I suppose all of the safety problems would persist if you use a floating air pump although depth limited by length of pipe, still deep enough for problems.

Any scuba experts out there. What would be the downside to using an extra breath of air in big wave surfing. Like having a cannister fastened into a wetsuit so in a bad hold down emergency and you need a supplemental breath just to get to the top. Im talking only like one full breath and nothing more. Big wave wipeouts you get pushed pretty deep so pressure would be an issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

this looks like it would be cool for snorkling when you find something interesting and would like to stay under for 5 mins approx. i can only hold my breath under water for a minute at best. so thius would be awsome for that and you can re-oxygenate them by hand pump. >. edit. im no expert but im only refering to use for snorkling dives around 5-7 metres. that would be safe? wouldnt it?

I hate these things anybody thinking this world be neat, do not but them they can be very dangiuse as many people below have alredy said, especiallyfor someone like a small child that does not know what they are doing. If this runs out when you have a breath of air and go up with out exhaling it would be very easy to burst a lung.

Okay, but for real though. I'm fairly new to scuba diving, and want to use something like this for a waterfall dive. Its probably 13 feet max. I understand further you go more oxygen you use, but realistically what's the max depth you should go on this without killing yourself. AGAIN, I just want this for a waterfall dive.

How long until you get decompression sickness? Or a lung over expansion injury? Spare Air wasn't designed for you to show off, it is a tool to be used in the unlikely event your primary tank runs out of air so you can ascend safely to the surface. You'd know that if you were certified

the people commenting about the varying effects at varying depths could not be more annoying. This is clearly not used for going deep (especially in this video. This is better for going distances in shallow waters while looking at fish, reefs, or whale sharks.

looks very uncomfortable, if it were any type current like in a river it appears a no go, I think the other type small air units with a mouthpiece that connects by airline to a vest or strap mounted mini tank would be much better.

People! I invented (tested well) the swimming device that more better than the fins. How to find out the money to patent it and distribute worldwide? Really, it is better than flippers invented last century!

If you're scuba diving directly below someone do they 'fall' down to the depth you are at?
Like how much volume do those bubbles take up? How much do they decrease the water's ability to provide buoyancy?

I need a tank that can go 20-30 feet below water and at least hold for 10-20 mins. $80 or less. Am going to go to Florida to swim in the ocean. Please give me any suggestions for tanks. Please reply.
