How long does the small scuba tank actually last? jjn: REMEMBER! IF YOU ARE A DIVER YOU WILL BE DEEPER AND CONSUME MORE AIR AT DEPTH, THIS TANK IS ESSENTUALLY USELESS FOR PROPER SCUBA. AT 20 meters when using 25 liters a minute (average for beginner) you have 47 seconds at that depth with this tank and 28 seconds at the max recreational depth (40m.
Scuba divers are recommended to carry at least a 13 tank (3 liter) as that will give them enough time to surface from deeper recreational depths. Pro-divers seldom use less then a size 19 and often rather carry a second full tank or doubles.

Hey so I'm looking at this as something to get for fun and get more used to being underwater before I take actual SCUBA certification classes. I don't want to spend a fortune on this so I'm wondering if there's a cheaper way to fill it with air? Would a bike pump work? I'm really new to this and don't really know anything about air compression or anything like that.

Two years ago, on 2 March 2020, you made a video called WHY THE SMALL SCUBA TANK IS A SCAM.
Two years later you are trying to sell me a 200 dollars worthless piece of dangerous s%$t called SMACO S500, get some revenue from that, and defending that garbage quite fiercely in the comments.

I think those compressors are generally not recommended to fill up air tanks that are intended for breathing. Especially without the additional filters.
But im not a scuba diver and only use my compressor to fill up the air rifle.
So im always keen to hear about your opinion.

I mean 5 or whatever minutes isn't bad for a small thing like that, it's a genius invention basically. But it would have been better if it had a wire so u can see how much air u have left instead of just taking it out of ur mouth each time

IDK about you, but I would rather go with a standard aluminum 80 for a pony lol. To be fair though, they are used as a spare gas source for aquarium cleaning and such. No deeper than 2meters.

I see this as a good emergency back up for spearfishing. If you or your buddy get caught in line of hung up under a ledge. could buy you 7 minutes to get free

Cant wait for the S700 test. Ill guess youll get around 18-22 mins. Maybe 25 with the lefeet. Tell us how long it took to fill the 2L when you make a video of it. :)

Diving on compressed air without proper training is just not a good idea. If anyone is interested in using this it would be a good idea to get trained in scuba

I breathe out autimatically when going up while freediving am I the only one (It would seem just natural with a tank to breathe out while going up for me)

Would a 25m dive be dangerous with this? I just wanna check out some wide open underwater caves that are local but I can only freedive for max 1: 30

I have a Question - You said to inhale air and breath out underwater but
So far I know that if you breathe out air you will start sinking.

So at 10 meters under water the pressure basically doubles from the surface. In essence that same volume of air will be less at 10 meters.

Curious as to how these work in cold water when using as spare air source. Can you get a free flow problem the same as a regular reg.
reply

It depends on the size of the human. Exemple: fully grown man ( can last about 5 minutes)
1 year old ( can last about 12 minutes)
