Help us make more videos and get personalized coaching at the same time! Flip turns advanced Here are 4 tips that will make you fast! 1- Head position. Practice keeping your head in line with your body at all time. 2- Instant stream line. At the moment your feet leave the wall, you should be in a perfect stream line. 3- Core strength To do a very fast turn, you need to develop a fairly strong core. 4- Knees at 90 degrees To have the optimal push, your knees need to be very close to a 90 degree bent. With a good flip turn you can generate a lot of speed off the wall, but you need to carry it through your stroke or otherwise it will be lost in the first second after the push. So make sure to subscribe and wait for the next tutorial where I will describe some of my favorite flip turn drills. I will soon do videos on how to do a good underwater kick and a break out to maintain the initial speed off the wall! These tips and techniques will work best to help you improve dramatically your stroke if you do two things: 1- Focus on one thing at a time 2- Practice until you dominate that thing and move to the next

I haven't seen one video that comments on getting down under the backwash when you come off the wall. I have noticed some swimmers use a bit of 'adverse yaw' which is well known in airplane flying or bicycle riding (you lean left first to make a right turn. In swimming it translates to raising your head very slightly which elevates the whole body a tiny bit and helps get you into and through the flip a bit faster.

Your videos are brilliant! The production is excellent, the instructions are clear. Thank you so much! I have a load of swim caps, from events and clubs otherwise I'd buy one to support. I'll look at the benefits to me of being a patron.

Then what about when you do backstroke will it be the same applied when you're coming to the end of a race in a swimming gala?
