I am now five weeks into Lucy's beginner workout program and let me tell you, I tried so many times to lose weight and get fit but it never worked for me.
By saying that I mean several workout programs (BBG, freeletics, Chloe Ting, free style) and a lot of different diets (5: 2, 16: 8, and unhealthy free style diets, too) in the last years.
I am not fat or something, actually just at the top of normal BMI but I was never really happy with my pear shape and belly area and felt that I don't even have an impact on my body, no matter what.
However, with doing the beginner program and starting a mostly low carb diet with a few exceptions, I managed to loose 2kg in four weeks and I am already able to do exercise that I couldn't do before. For me the biggest difference in this program is that I actually have fun when exercising because I am not completely overwhelmed and exhausted.
So as a person who was ususally disappointed and discouraged after every other training, I can really recommend it to everyone who might feel the same way --

I'm 55, been disabled since birth and in a wheelchair for a few years now. Entering menopause too. Been seeing my blood work getting worse over the last 2 years and also gained weight above what has been my upper -limit- before hand.
I live with a hubby who loves to snack and has no intention of doing anything healthy to get off or reduce his multiple meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, etc, even after multiple heart issues he's had.
But I've decided that at my age I don't want to become like him and have 6 meds a day to keep my blood work looking 'good'. I have about 20-25 kilos to lose but I'm not going to go nuts about it. Small, gradual changes that will work for me is the way to go as well as finding more physical activity that I will enjoy. If it takes a year or two - that's fine with me.
Thanks for your words and inspiration. You're the first that managed to do that! :)

Arrrgh, I've lost so much weight and kept it of for years but I just can't loose the last 10kgs. I'm at the upper end of healthy sometimes sitting in the overweight range. Because I lift heavy weights with a focus on progressive overload I maintain this weight eating whatever I want. I am truly happy about this but wish I could find the drive to loose another 10kgs. I had so much determination to achieve what I have to date but I just can't get my head back into the game. I have lost over 30kgs and kept it off for 3 years now. I train 5 to 6 days a week. I'm a size medium and 171cms tall. So I'm OK but I'd love to be slimmer just not enough I guess

Weigh yourself, honey. WEIGH YOURSELF! As an older woman you have no idea of how many people I have seen lose the same amount of weight as you. And then within a few years it is back on. I remember chatting with one of the weight loss surgeons at the hospital - he showed me the studies. Less than 1% keep the weight off after three years. I asked him what the 1% did. -That's easy! They weigh themselves every single day and as soon as 2lbs goes on, then they diet-.
Congratulations on the hard work. I am so glad that you are happier and healthier!

You did look like you had nice form even when overweight. Also happy.
First thing I did to begin losing weight is finding something simple to do everyday to keep you making conscious decisions. All day. For me it was avoiding my reflection. It keeps you focused on the moment. I've lost 55 pounds in under a year now and honestly see no slowing down unless I give up. If 55 pounds sounds like not very much, I weigh 175 and am 6-3. Kind of hit a wall in weight loss. Now I will build muscle and focus on posture which the weight hurt.

To y'all that has managed losing weight did you have those moments when you messed up and eldudge in to having junk that wasn't on your schedule because most of the stories I hear about people who lost weight feels like they had a smooth path and I'm just wondering what's wrong with me coz if I change environment for more than a day due to uncontrollable circumstances I always end up messing and having junk food

I too am plus-size, and would love to get down to the weight that you considered yourself as being -fat. - Honestly, we all have diff opinions on what needs improving in our lives, but I have to say you were gorgeous as a plus-size woman! But, if you weren-t comfortable in your skin, then you weren-t comfortable. It-s just too bad that women are not perceived as beautiful unless they are very thin. Just sad.

I have just started noom which teaches you everything to keep it consistent and lifelong, it counts calories but it also rewards exercise with a little more calories for the day, it's been hard and not hard at the same time I do not like sales or hardly any veggies so I struggle with that but I'm trying, they estimate to get to my goal is around a year so it's not extreme, hopefully I can keep with it.

Thank you Lucy! I-ve always hated wanting to go to the gym because it would hurt or make me anxious and was always so nervous to even step on the treadmill. And my diet is horrible rn and I always watch videos of other fitness guru and their GRWM videos and it would be so unrealistic! But after watching with this video I feel so. motivated!

This feels a lot like intuitive eating which is wonderful. You didn't force yourself to eat a big breakfast because you weren't hungry, you ate something that was filling and delicious for lunch and then you allowed food that you loved and craved. No wonder that worked for you because that is very sustainable
