I lost 11 or so kgs last year. about 1kg a month very slow. I still want too lose 5kg more but I'm probably at a realistic maintanence weight now. I think it takes a few things after countless failed attempts over the years. I also was once 30kg heavier. maybe it takes the tools and a damn good reason. I became a qualified PT a few years ago and had all the tools but remained 15 kgs or so overweight. then bang I'm counting my calories now and I'm never going backwards. well never say never but I just could not loose any more in life when I knew how to sort my weight at least. and it is true I'm afraid. weight's never 100% but on a bad day maybe it will be one of the days also the light's shining just right and you look ok in the mirror. but also true. once I got too exactly 100kgs. smoked 40 cigarettes a day. drank a case (15) cans of diet coke. drank energy drinks & 10 or so coffees a day. well I HAD to sort all that and more as best I could to even give it a try. and F-%$ I still have so many bad moments. but I'm physically healthy and look ok. apart from the schizophrenia. even then. get off the couch it's possible: )

I think everyone knows these days that exercise is not the primary driver of fat loss. Or maybe I'm in the fitness bubble where everyone hates cardio. I do think the message people hear is -you don't have to exercise- or it's pointless except for mental health and I think that is completely wrong. If you want to lose primarily fat and not just overall weight which includes lean body mass, you need to be exercising, specifically some form of resistance training whether that is calisthenics or lifting external weight. This prevents drastic decrease in BMR. And low intensity activity through walking for example, absolutely raises your calorie expenditure and makes weight loss and maintenance super easy even if your deficit is not very large.

Tbh, I-m lost.
I-ve been in a calorie deficit for weeks now, about 9 weeks actually. (Even calculated the calories in the beginning, now I don-t rly have to do that anymore) Nutrition has never been a problem for me, I-ve always eaten healthy and clean, recently started being completely vegan (used to be vegetarian, never had a problem with binging or controlling my food. For four weeks now I-ve been very consistent with exercising, (running, home workouts and weight training 5 times a week) Yet nothing has changed on the scale & I am starting to lose it. I have no idea what to do anymore & just completely don-t get how and why I haven-t lost any weight yet.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know
Thank you

I've hired a nutritionist and it's working for me. I've lost 4kg in 8 weeks without exercise. I've stopped weighing myself daily. I now weigh maybe monthly as I know its not important. I batch cook and what I'm doing fits in with my busy family life. I have a heart condition and as a cardiac specialist nurse previously I know how important exercise is to maintain overall health but it's not suitable for everyone. It has to be enjoyable to be sustainable. I've found body combat. I'm not the best but I'm moving. The more I do it the more interested I get in exercise. I love your videos and as for talking a lot it makes you more relateable. Keep doing what your doing. It's fab x

Great video as always. I love listening to you. You-re so encouraging and realistic. When you were downsizing portions, did you feel hungry a lot? I-ve seen your videos on what you ate while losing weight and also have heard you talk about the amount of exercise you were doing. I feel like if I was exercising that much and downsizing my portions like that, I-d be starving! I-m currently losing weight, but don-t want to start exercising yet because I know it-ll make me really hungry. I don-t think I have the self control to do both!

I've just restarted my journey to lose 55 pounds (I tried and gave up last year, and your videos really help me to think about weight loss rationally, tune out all the extra noise of the weight loss industry, and really make me feel like I can accomplish my goals. My mindset is really different this time around. I'm trying to create healthy habits and be proud of any progress, not just quick progress, and stay the course no matter how long it takes. Thank you for your transparency and encouragement Lucy!

I lost 34 kg in the past 2 years and I'm so afraid I might gain it all back. Still I caught myself eating way too much sweets last week. I now reduced that to 3 pieces per day. My goal is to eat only one treat per day (if any. I think maybe I got a bit too relaxed after I came back to my normal weight and held it for a few months. Anyway thank you so much for your videos, they were and still are a great help on my weight loss and fitness journey!

It took me nearly 5 months to change and improve my food habits which alone helped me drop 5 percent in body fat. My metabolism is low and is slowly picking up. Everybody has their own health journey but yes some tips, tricks and hacks help along the way. I can't go low or zero carb cause it makes me very irritable and prone to mood swings. What I opt for is lower calories and healthy options. Cutting out sugar helped a lot.

I've just started a 900 calorie diet and surprisingly I'm doing well with it, I constantly check and add up my calories, I snack a lot so I started to snack on like baby food and fruits, trying to snack on vegetables too but so far so good, I usually only eat two meals anyways so that's also a big help, today I ate a half of sandwich, strawberries and carrots and it was only 146 calories, I was proud of myself
