It looks like a truly magical place and an awesome adventure. I can relate to you needing to get out of the home. I got separated from my wife last year and part of the deal for me coming home is I am able to leave my home every two to three weeks and go backpacking, skiing or mountain biking for a few days or sometime a couple weeks. I know not everyone needs this but I do. I take my dog with me on my backpacking trips and she loves it too. We will be leaving in another week for a 173 mile hike through Vermont. Thanks for sharing that death march with us. Looked brutal and beautiful all at the same time. Aron was truly a gift that day for sure.

Absolutely agape at this route and the free climbing traverse from wind to schiestler. did a loop from sinks canyon up to wind river, down the west gully, over to big sandy, then the cirque back to the sinks canyon with 6 other friends over 5 days. the west gully of wind river peak was absolutely harrowing, struggle to imagine repeating it voluntarily. we encountered it much looser, with a large group we were in constant danger of the rock fall trigger by those above us. The traverse seems way above a safety margin without a rope and partner so I'm very glad you made it. We all thought we were going to die descending the west gully.

I really hope people watch these whole videos because seeing you get cliffed out and be screwed by a trip report is the most relatable thing ever, especially for solo hikers. You don't have a partner to find other ways down or test your theories, its all on you. It can be really stressful, frustrating and even dangerous and I felt all that through the screen. Bravo Danny, the athletic side is one thing - but putting a relatable experience into film is another. Great stuff.

Danny, it's almost like you were a scrawny little kid when you first started making these videos, and look at you now. I assume looking back into the basin at 15: 28 shows us the cliffs and the chute you navigated down. I was rooting for you on that down climb, having to go down and around made an already ambitious day into an even burlier day. As always nice to tag along with you while you work it out.

Wow, Danny. How can you just do basically the same shit over and over again (hiking, running, scrambling through the mountains) yet with every new adventure I am more captivated than before? I love the raw drama and full range of emotion you capture on this solo adventure. Thank you for sharing it with those of unable to escape the gravity of our own domestic spheres. ..

In the beta it didn't sound like a big deal. there was zero description on how to navigate this.
Perhaps zero description is code for zero route?
I loved your game-time decision making: I won't climb further down unless I know I can climb back up.
Great video, and I'm glad you found a safe route back. albeit with bugs and blow-downs.

Amazing hike, wish I could put in miles like that! I go to this trail a decent amount and I swear over the last couple years the mosquitos have went from horrible to just god awful. Late June of this year they were so bad a head net, full strength deet and 2 layers of clothing weren't enough. Also saw a Grizzly near the trailhead.

Great video and glad you enjoyed at least some of the day. I really hope you have a plb (personal locator beacon) with you on these solo missions. With all that choss in those mountains, a helmet during the scrambling wouldn't have been a bad thing (just keep yours in your truck) - those scrambles looked sketch!

Did a couple backpacking trips in the winds when I was a bit more spry, and I still think they are the most wonderful, craggy, gnarly mountains I have visited. I also recall the mosquitos. Next level up there. Thank you for the reminder of the extremes of the Wind River Range.

Im curious about what its like to run with the camera and produce content while navigating this terrain.
How long do your walking towards or walking away from the camera shots take? Watching this made me think you could shave time cutting out some of those 12+ shots lol.

You know it's going to be a good story when the first words are My brother in law. and his kids. have been at my house for the past couple days. I almost couldn't stop laughing just at that.
This guy is far from mediocre. A true athlete and at times a good comedian.

I've never seen that look of concern on Danny's Face before. That seemed pretty legit and unfortunately I know what that feeling is of gambling on a new route off a peak and it not working out, but when it eventually does, it's the best feeling EVER!

When you hear about helicopter evacs in the mountains because climbers went off route and got cliffed up, its so easy to see how that could happen to a less experienced climber. Danny way to be a pro and pick your way out of there

Beautiful views toooo many death drops rock hopping sorry for your fall backs but your safely back to the car. I'll need to take Diazipam before watching it again. Bring a netted hat in the backpack for sketers.

Awesome video, props to you for getting so much solo footage on a grueling day like that. With some of that down climbing you have to be glad that your family doesn't watch any of your videos haha!

Awesome Danny. I have a testing (literally being assessed) week coming up in the mountains and you have once more inspired me and told me mentally to shut up, be cool and get on with it.

Despite all the issues, you keep it real to dull the typical lustor of the influencer world. Thanks for keeping up the motivation to keep adventuring without setting up anyone for failure

An hour wasted is better than hours of being cliffed out waiting for a rescue, or worse. Good call on your part, I hope those watching understood the magnitude of making that decision.

You found a replacement for Cristof, now that you can make your own sandwiches, does Aaron have a dry wit? Of course, if he trains with a mountain bike youll still have to search.

What a fantastic adventure, Danny, and the edit is mint. Even though you couldn't drop down and pick up the trail where you'd hoped, your instincts were dialed in. Great day!
