For the first time going on the trip to a new place, Colorado springs or Rocky mountain is hug, we concern where we should stay (rv campground) so we dont have to drive forth and back too far from all visit places. Any boondocking allowed in the park overnight (in rv. Were going next week.

Drove all through Colorado and found this area one of the most beautiful places. I took my daughter when she turned 16. Here in S TX she's never seen a real mountain etc. This Summer I'm taking my son there for his 16th bday mom/kid trip. My 6 yr old is already pondering where he wants to go on his mom/kid 16th bday trip lol. Can't wait to see his face as he sees the canyon and the mountains etc

You probably posted this before the accident but the haunted mine drop will likely be closed for the foreseeable future. On lodging if you look across the street from the La Quinta you were at there is a place called the Starlight lodge. Family owned and relatively inexpensive. Also, there are free hot springs in Glenwood if you know where to look.

I lived in Carbondale for 17 out of 27 years in the valley back in the 80s 90s till 2005 and of course it was so much nicer, prettier and pristine back then. Oh well! That's progress
