Best travel tip. Find airport that flies you to where you want to go in your area this may not be the closest one. Example living in Detroit to Europe our family is in Poland to go from Detroit metro it is 1k fly out of Toronto it is $ as low as $500 round trip. Going with a family the gas and parking is still cheaper.
Another read how to beat budget airlines. Pack light you can save. For example Spirit charges a fee to order online of $36 go to the airport and a family of 4 you can save a lot of $.
Example Spirit has a deal from Miami to Jamaica. Go from Detroit to Miami and then Miami to Jamaica. That will save you $.

Depending on how you define travel and free it actually is possible. Working for an airline I fly for free (and sometimes reduced cost on other airlines. Flying international you have to pay taxes (yes, taxes really are unavoidable, but that's it on the travel side. Yes you still need to spend once you get wherever you're going but there are often reduced rates. If you don't think you could work for an airline because you're not a pilot or can't work full time guess again. Most airlines (especially in the US) hire part time, and I think ALL airlines have just about every job imaginable both skilled and unskilled.

My college roommate dropped out and took a courier job back in the 70's. It was a talked about thing to do that included all the Tavel you could handle. You could stay in a city after you delivered your papers/package unless you had other jobs scheduled and you did pay for your hotel. He was only allowed to take a carry on suitcase in addition to his delivery. This was before FedEx and overnight delivery. He made up to $500 per job which was great then, but he did have to pay for his own bonding

Great video: )
We have been to Europe three times. First two times we stayed in France, then flew down to the Algarve. The third time we stayed one month on the Algarve.
We want very much to return to Europe again, but with all these terroristic threats, it's scary. Would you go back to Paris? We are considering it. It's hard to stay away from such a lovely city. And also, what site do you get the best deals for your airfare on? :)

I'm not saying it's free, you have to get there! But I've just come back from a 4 month trip and we were living whilst spending next to nothing doing Helpx, WOOF and WorkAway. Obviously you want to go to cities and do activities which cost but its a great way for young people to live with families and experience a country on the cheap

Hi. My daughter who is 23 is going to Thailand for two weeks with a friend over Christmas holiday. While I'm happy that she is wanting to travel I am a little worried since they will be two young and lovely women traveling alone. Do you have any advice I can pass along to them?

- walk as much as possible
- avoid hotels as much as possible
- cook your food

I've known people who work second part-time jobs to pay for their travels. I realize this isn't possible for everyone but for many it is. It sure beats sitting at home wishing you had visited the wonderful places Mark Wolters visitss.
