I loved the video. Im from Rio, so I gotta say, I dont really think the clothes would make you a target since the South Zone(place where the tourists go visit 99% of the time) is the richest part of the city and the country as well. People wears expensive clothes and that doesnt really matter. I would say that electronic devices can make you a target, especially when you walk around and dont pay much of attention. Yes, unfortunately thats how it goes here, so pay attention but its not that alarming. About the beach, honestly I wouldnt say that Leme is the safest one, perhaps their level of security is the same. Posto 11 is the most famous point of the whole beach, so famous people and many rich people stay there and yet its not that bad as many people say. Rio is about being kinda on alert mode and pay attention as you should any where else in the world. Whoever comes to Rio, enjoy it, especially the food and the views, might be the best one you will ever have! :)

Im from Rio, and you can dress up, just avoid expensive stuff like watch, gold necklace, and stuff like that. If you are in the south zone, its the tourist zone basically, so it hasnt a lot place that you can go and get in real trouble, just avoid some favelas without someone who knows the area, and most of ppl there are just like you, nothing wrong or crazy, but its true has dealers in those areas, so better go with someone who knows better than u

Rio is the best place to be mugged! if you go to visit Rio don't take wallet, cellphone, Digital Camera, expensive clothes, don't talk to anyone. don't walk alone, look to everywhere. if you see someone coming front of you go to the other side, don't take busses. it's better don't come to Rio, you can't go back home anyome.

Is it OK to carry cash/camera/cellphone with you the to the beach? Of course, you want to buy food/drinks, take pictures and answer phone calls. Just in case you want to bathe in the Ocean, how and where do you leave them (lest they get stolen)?
