Yeah theres crime everywhere, but youre not understanding the levels of immorality that differ between place to place. Brasil aint no joke, pretending like it is isnt smart, I get that youre saying be easy and be smart, but anything is liable to happen in Brasil, the laws are different, the people are different, the style of crime is different, the ideology and hustle is different. Brasil is not America, dont confuse it with being just like any other place. The crowds, driving, mental, grind and much more is very different. Its not just about being smart, yeah thatd work if you spoke Portuguese and had a solid grounded foundation in Brasil. Be more than smart, be mindful and aware plus respectful and understanding of where you are. Pretending like Brasil is just like anywhere else is a mistake, because it aint, and it would be disrespectful to think otherwise.

People! Please stop visiting unsafe shitholes like Brazil or other African or South American cities or countries where the crime rate is high. I'm not afraid. I just don't want to encourage those governments to not fight violence. It may not happen nothing to you but the locals are living in fear. If we stop visiting these countries the governments will panic and they will fight crime.
If you think otherwise you are an ignorant murican.

Its kind of become a meme by now, but certainly most heavily populated cities in massive countries will be a dangerous in certain parts, especially at night. Being to Italy, I did enjoy how peaceful certain places were(especially Siena and Assisi) though they have benefit of being relatively small medieval cities

I don't mind getting scammed out of a few bucks, it's happened to me at every country I've visited so far (I think I have the stereotypical look of a gullible idiot) but I do care about being kidnapped, robbed or worse. How likely is it that REALLY bad things happen to solo female travelers?

Never been to Brazil I could barely speak the language but this girl wants me to go there and she's even wanting to buy my ticket to go and I have to say I'm kind of nervous at the idea I don't want to wind up being a person who disappears one day in Brazil lol
