Ok one thing is totally missing. Amsterdamers hate it above everything if ppl walk or stand in the bicycle lanes. Never throw litter in the canals. Don't take pictures of the girls in the window show rooms in De Wallen (red light district. Don't use cars because there is no space in the city center for them. Parking will cost you insane amounts of money for that reason. Also, don't leave bicycles where you see a sign Hier geen fietsen plaatsen It means its private property and the owners don't wish to live on a bicycle dump.
Everyone should also see the city 's-Hertogenbosch in Brabant. Thats my insider tip. Notice that weed is not legal in the Netherlands. Its forbidden to smoke weed in public. Dutch ppl hate that tourists misunderstand that and think about adjusting their policies so only locals would be still served in Coffeeshops. In some provinces this is already the case so be informed where you are.

You're so wrong about so many things. It's very ignorant and arrogant of you to assume that Dutch ppl are so forward and they say anything no matter how rude. My families from Amsterdam, I now live in Pa. in the states. I'd be pissed off if I was with my family in Europe and heard a family member or other European ask someone Why are you so fat. Only idiots and assholes act that way, no matter what part of the world they're from. I surely wouldn't ask you being a stranger or not, why you're overweight and why you find the need for a ponytail with no hair in the front or top. Its just rude to assume. Geez.

The thing with the bill is probably because we consider it rude to suggest you pay up and get the hell out. I mean I lately had an incident where the waiter came after we were just done with our dinner because apparently somebody else had reserved a table and there weren't any left. I paid quickly, told him I had never experienced such treatment and I'm so not going there again. Shameful experience. Normally, eventually they will probably present you the bill if you have not ordered for an hour but it's better to just ask for it.

I've been to Amsterdam (and other cities) a number of times over the years. My don'ts for my fellow male Americans: Don't wear baseball caps or sports jerseys; don't be the guy mixing pot or hashish - and definitely not magic mushrooms - with alcohol; don't smoke cannabis or drink in the street, and don't think every pretty girl thinks you're cool just because you're American. Don't do any of that and Amsterdam will be cool with you, and you'll have a wonderful time.

Since 90% of the people here in the comments section are Dutch, the expats who live here have one special request. Please stop asking us, what are you doing in this country? Some of us come for personal reasons and it's a long story, or something we are not comfortable explaining in the first 10 seconds of meeting. Overall, it's very rude! There are over a million Dutch people living abroad and we do not demand an explanation from them!

Maybe you should have made this video from some place other than Amsterdam. You talk about don't just think Amsterdam is all there is to the Netherlands while filming from Amsterdam. It would be really nice for once, if a tourist ever visited some place in the Netherlands other than Amsterdam

I went in the winter. I sat next to a tulip salesman on the plane ride over. The Anne Frank house was great. I didnt pass by the red light district. There is a lot to see there. I stayed in Delft. What an old city. Cant wait to go and explore in the summer.

I laughed so hard about the food part.
It's really simple, if you speak Dutch to me I will speak Dutch to you. If you speak English to me I will speak English to you. If you speak in any other language to me I will speak English to you.

Ive watched a few of this guy's videos on don't do's & I personally find them bland & off the mark.
His videos are more appropriate for older travelers that haven't traveled much.
