Where did Leonardo da Vinci spend the last years of his life? Why in Amboise, France. This incredible city on the Loire River is a must see for anyone wanting to visit the best area for French Chateaux. The Chateaux of Amboise has incredible views, the tomb of Leonardo, and period pieces throughout. The Chteau du Clos Luc has an incredible collection of Leonardo da Vinci's works. The city also has an incredible food scene and easy access to a number of chateaux in the Loire Valley

Thanks Mark. Your video awoke pleasant memories, as I partly grew up in this nice city area. Moreover, each of your already nice videos is still more enjoyed as travels are somewhat discouraged/restricted, when not banned altogether (most of us, even living in France, would not be allowed to go to Amboise at the moment, as we can't go more than 100km from home.
I'm looking forward to see you and family travelling again. Stay safe, have fun.

I like the Loire Valley a huge amount. But, after the first five chateaux they do blend together. Same for the great cathedrals. Overload. But, a favorite area. On my last trip there I was also in Normandy to see the DDay sites. I was so happy to be there to walk Omaha Beach, see a DDay museum, walk the American Cemetery.

For obvious reasons, we can conclude this video is not recent. For the sake of transparency, please include the accurate time/season/year in your videos. I was there April, 2019 and watching this video I can see things/signs etc. missing on buildings.

I loved re-living this trip. We had such a great time as a whole family going to Amboise. The grandparents had fun, we had fun, the kids had fun. Really a nice town to visit with plenty to enjoy and you will eat so well there as well.

My goodness, this place is gorgeous! I never really heard of Amboise until this video and immediately, the scenery struck me. Definitely hope to return to France one day and if I do, I'll be sure to pay a visit to this place.

Great video. Now that most of our travel is going to be driving / local, this is a strong contender for an upcoming trip. Thanks for all the tips and good to see the family Hi to you all.

Great video! Didn't know about this town. Everything Leonardo-related is so fantastic! But please, check the pronunciation of the towns (in Wikipedia e. g) before you make a video; )

We took a train from Paris to Amboise. The train lets you off in Amboise right across from the bridge shown in the video. You just have to walk across the bridge and youre there.

Amboise is beautiful! I also had the best meal I've ever eaten across from the chateau. there is also a Mona Lisa that you can see up close, unlike at the Louvre.
