We have not been able to get the boys to Australia yet, but we were sent a wonderful care package from our fellow traveler Peter B. And the boys decided they wanted to make a video on Australian candy. And of course we had to get them to try some Vegemite too

To my fellow Americans: When you arrive in Australia, look for packets of vegemite when you have breakfast. They usually have them on the table just like packets of jelly, preserves, or butter to put on your bread. There you can try it quietly and discreetly, and later when someone offers it to you, you'll know how to answer. When we took a train to the Blue Mountains, a woman with 3 children obviously heard our accents, and offered us some vegemite sandwiches, and we politely told her that her children need to be fed first. Now, Mark has to let the kids try Four'N'Twenty pies!

Hi Walter. As an Australian I loved this video. The look on your sons faces was priceless! Really Vegemite is a very acquired taste. I'm 63 and have been eating it all my life and still love it. As for the ANZAC biscuits It has been claimed that they were home baked biscuits and were sent by wives and women's groups to soldiers during WW 1 because the ingredients do not spoil easily and the biscuits kept well during naval transportation. Best video ever but I'm bias. Stay safe and well and a BIG thumbs up.

You're only supposed to put a tiny bit of vegemite and more butter. The idea is that a tiny jar can last forever in the backshed of someone who lives in the country. Didn't know all that stuff was indigenous to here, especially twisties i thought they were american. Caramello koalas and tim tams are awesome.

Hi Mark as the comment below put the vegemite on sparingly I like it with a bit more butter. Get Caleb and Liam to try it again or put it on toast sparingly I must say I can't bring myself to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or in Australia (jam) I'm glad you liked the Tim tams Tanya from Australia.

While in Australia in 2016, we tried some Nice Cookies and loved them so much that we had to buy some more. Wish we had tried the Vegemite but had not heard of it back then. Would love to try the Tim Tams too! Your kids did a great job with their review, so cute!

It must have been the bread you used on the Vegemite sandwich! It must have tarnished the flavour of the Vegemite: -) Hahahaha.
I've just started watching your videos again and am enjoying them. Great job, keep up the good work.
I envy your lifestyle.

Dont smell the Vegemite! There is a fine art to eating it correctly. We are raised on it and know the tricks As an Aussie who lived in the USA for 12 years, Id say the sweetness of the bread there takes from the experience.

A shame you had to prank your kids now they will be hesitant to try Vegemite the correct way. Hot toast, has to be hot, lashings of butter melted into the toast and the merest of smears of Vegemite, it's unbelievably good!

It's definitely something you grow up on, as it's an acquired taste. Haha less is more & butter is a must! We've had international students stay with us in the past and we gave them Vegemite and they hated it. LOL!

Hello Caleb and Liam, after your video I went to Amazon to look up Tim Tams, 29. 99 for 2 boxes, too pricey for me. Someone said they taste like Twix, would Twix be a good substitute? Thanks!
