visited Pilsner Urquell 15 yrs ago. will never forget that unfiltered/unpasteurized beer they served us in the caves. the taste, texture, even the smell, an epiphany. while it's not bottled, a certain amount goes into kegs for local businesses so you can get it in taverns in Prague.

Hi, Mark! When I was a college underclassman, I went to Prague as a part of an externship (in 2004. I want to go back, but it's hella costly to travel there from the Washington, DC area. One of the things we did was to tour Pilsner. Though I think we may have toured the museum.

Try to schedule a trip in May and attend the Thank You America festival, which celebrates Patton's army liberating Plzen during WW2. Lots of booths, reenactments, entertainment, and of course, beer. There's also a cool (but small) Patton museum just off the main square

My big regret when visiting Prague is not going to Plzen. Thanks Mr. Wolter. You made me thirsty. This is definitely on my beer bucket list. Have you gone to the Radergast by the clock in Prague. Touristy? Yes. But, great beer, cole slaw and pepper steak. Cheers!

Is there anywhere that 'Tesco' and their corporate tentacles have yet to spread? Not very much liked here in the U. K. Mark.
So pleased to see you're still doing it notwithstanding you know what: -)
At last, a whiff of normality.

Plzen has to be the best city in the Czech Republic. Been there a few times in the last five years (before Covid. St Barts Sq and Bezrucova have some great bars and food outlets. Love the place and the people are amazing.

The local food in Czech Republic is really good as well as the beer. I loved my time visiting a few years ago. Hopefully in 2021 conditions will be improved enough to return to Europe.

Number 6 go to the multi story puppet museum in the old town square. These aren't tourist puppets these are the real thing. Excellent museum. (And I didn't even go to the brewery)
