We were lucky enough to meet up with our friend and fellow traveler Scott in Edinburgh and he was kind enough to give us some tips and advice on getting the most out of visiting Scotland from a local. Apologies for the sound we were filming on a phone at the time and this was the best audio we could do

The Scots have a reputation for being value oriented. My dad used to tell a joke: Q: How was the Grand Canyon formed? A: A Scotsman dropped a quarter down a gopher hole.
There also used to be a generic brand put out by Safeway food stores called Scotch Buy that was value oriented.

Hiking? No bars anywhere? Um no? Hiking inside a distillery and grocery store? Yes! at least the weather in Scotland isn't 114 f like Las Vegas. What's that like 46c? I would share the picture of the shopping center thermometer but how?

This was excellent. Scott seems like a very nice gent. As for midges, they are an essential fly fishing fly (artificial lure) possibly in my top 5. Midges don't bite in the U. S. west by the way. Really enjoyed this video.

Horrible audio quality. It is nearly impossible to understand anything which the Scotsman said.
Can you get a second microphone for people who you are talking to, and try to avoid noisy areas when talking?

I really need to go back to Scotland. I went there for the first time last November when I visited Edinburgh. which became one of my favourite cities. I'll explore the nature next time.

a 36 minute advertisement. come on guys. I do watch the ads as I know that is also a source of revenue so you can continue to travel and put out these videos but 36 minutes?

Another don't of Scotland, don't hug another man in an interview. I don't think Scott was very comfortable with all the touching. Otherwise, great tips as always.

That fish and chips plate suddenly gave me a craving. And I'm in a country that doesn't even know what that is. So I'm going to have to improvise. Thanks Mark.

how are you in scotland right now?
('pence' is the plural of 'penny' btw: )
edit: nvm, saw the other comments that this was filmed previously!
