Great tips Joel mate.
Being from the UK myself, SE Asia is my favourite region for travel. I have been to Malaysia 5 times, Thailand 4 times, Singapore 3 times, Philippines and Indonesia twice each. I am hoping to go to Indonesia again, Malaysia and Thailand one more time, and Vietnam for the very first time. SE Asia has everything to offer with amazing megacities, mountains, waterfalls, stunning tropical beaches, various cultures and religious sites, incredible jungles and fauna, and amazing food. My top 3 favourite cities visited are KL, Bangkok and Singapore, and Jakarta is high on the list too

Malaysia is an absolutely class country which is often over looked by many backpackers (probably because it doesn't have the drinking culture which some asian countries have) but you can still find a good party, its ridiculously cheap, its stunning and there's so much to see and do! KL is brilliant and East malaysia (Borneo etc) is also brilliant.

Hi there,
what is the situation with the mopeds? Do you need a bike license, or your average car license is enough, and can you drive something over 50 cc with it?
And how doe the Vietnam coups with driving licenses - I've heard you need some special permission, or it might be only for car.
Thanks in advance.

Its a good itinerary. The challenge is that you will be surrounded by fellow tourists 24/7 and will likely get tired of been 'sold too all the time'. Sumatra, Borneo, Suluwesi are good places to go with lots of infrastructure, good prices and you won't feel that your just copying a million and one other people.

Hi Joel, fantastic video! I'm curious which time of year is best to travel to SE Asia, I finish school in April but I see monsoon (wet) season is present in most countries from June-Sep, did you experience monsoon season? Do you recommend travelling in dry season instead?
reply

Heya just wondering if its best to have a full itinerary before going on the trip or if having a rough idea for the first couple weeks is enough to leave space for new plans

Tech video, please! How many batteries, GoPro, portable hard drives, did you take your laptop to edit videos, etc
How easy was it for you to do your washing?

How much would you say you spent in totally from the start of you're trip to the end? To get an idea of how much one would need to save lump sum
