Why should you avoid American Airlines First Class? Well to find out, today I-m flying on one of the USA's longest domestic flights, onboard the Boeing 777. Hawaii is a place I-ve long been fascinated with, and I-m excited to have the opportunity to visit today. Unfortunately my flight over to paradise wasn-t exactly smooth. Let's take a deep dive, and comprehensive review of one of AA's flagship premium products. My first issue was booking said flight. I had a confirmation of booking, payment was taken yet no email or PNR was issued. After spending over four hours on the phone to their contact centre, AA explained that the ticket was essentially in limbo, and their payment system wasn-t able to handle my foreign AMEX card- certainly the first time that this has happened, anywhere in the world for me. I explore the lacklustre airport lounges, which you can only access if you-re a top tier member of the one world frequent flyer program (excluding AA's own program-. Even whilst in these lounges, you still have to pay for the vast majority of food and drink. Leading to question- why have a lounge in the first place? Onboard today I experienced some of the strangest service habits, where meal service was rushed, my tray table was forced down without me being ready- and overall not experiencing a proper -First Class- flight. Furthermore there was an equipment change (which I understand happens)- and there was literally no service for the vast majority of my 8 hour flight. Would I recommend flying AA to Hawaii based on this experience? Sadly not. Given the option of Hawaiian, from many US cities - I'd choose their A330. Yes it has a 2-2-2 but mostly when flying to Hawaii, you travel as a couple or family. As always though, let me know what you think of today's trip report, have you flown over to Hawaii before on American's First Class? And yes before the comments. it is sold as First Class, but i'm aware that this is a international Business Class product or what AA call Flagship Business Class. Hm am I missing something? $1200 for a first class ticket on an 8 hour flight? and I heard him calling it expensive a couple of times. Is it just me or is that not extremely cheap? I mainly fly between Sweden and Japan which is about 9 hours, and the average economy ticket would cost you $1200 (Currently more like 2k because of the war. First class ticket prices I wouldn't even dare to look at, usually it's another zero, the few times I have checked first class ticket prices for shorter trips it was always 5k+. I'm honestly wondering if he forgot to add a zero.

My sister flew AMERICAN AIRLINES first class from JFK to Jamaica on a 737.
The flight amenities sucked and they had ENGINE TROUBLE required an emergency landing back at JFK and a 2 hour wait.
I RECENTLY flew Business Class on Emirates from JFK to Dubai to Maldives. I had access to the lounge in JFK and Dubai.
MY TRIP WAS FLAWLESS.
EMIRATES A380-800 is A DREAM GIVEN FORM!

Scraping the bottom of the barrel is probably the best way to sum up these vids
Clearly the flight service should of surprised you with a 8 person chocolate fudge cake and then promptly danced for you before tucking you in for the night and giving you a good story to fall asleep too, god damned them for not doing so

They have PSPs or PS Vita's fitted for the televisions hahahahhaa. wow, you would expect first class to feature up to date tech and comfort, none was offered here. As a chef, those meals were also majorly lackluster. I think I need a job on a plane making people food.

Having flown a boatload of American bases airlines. AA, South West, Delta. etc Here is the lesson: AVOID all American-based airlines. they all suck and are just plain a rip-off. And, never book an international flight on any of these tin cans. It is miserable

Holy man, $1200 for a FIRST CLASS 8 hour flight, I wish. Canadian domestic flights are so expensive that it-s an average of -$1200 for an ECONOMY 7 hour flight to the east coast. It-s insane the cost of domestic travel in Canada.

Did you just walk into your hotel room, setup your camera on the door, then walk back out into the hallway, and then film your self walking into your room?

At least you got a flat bed. I flew LAX-HNL back in 2016, and it was a dire product. Ancient recliners in first class, nowhere close to flat bed, really poor catering and mediocre IFE.

As a person who has flown AA their entire life they have really gone down in quality since they were bought by US air seem US air is playing business as usual with a new name

I flew recently on Emirates 777 from Dubai to Maldives in Business Class. It-s nowhere near as good as Emirates A380 but it-s better than Fly Dubai-s 737 Business Class.
