I spent 3 days solo hiking the 25 mile Mardi Himal trek in the Himalayan Mountains Hiking guide and downloadable trail map - 1952mdmcc: I've been to Nepal twice and I believe some of the smartest dogs on the planet are in the Himalayas. My first trip in 2014 (EBC) I was just outside Lukla when we came upon a large female dog and one of her pups laying across the path. Of course everyone stopped to pet them and leave a snack. The mama dog had it down to a science. In 2019 I did Mardi Himal (or tried - got food poisoning) and brought along some dog biscuits to hand out for treats. Ha! The dogs barely touched them! They wanted human food not dog food!

Some lady from US took her to the US just because she followed her but I don't think that was a good idea. She will not have the same level of freedom though she might be fed well. And it was not that she wasn't fed and I doubt if she can handle being constrained in her tiny apartment.
Anyways, hope the dog is doing well.

I have been on so many different treks in a different region of the Himalayas, but one thing is common among all of them, a dog followed me in each and every trek from the time I started to the very end, so better to reward them with a treat after the trek is complete.

3: 55 as an indian, I literally laughed when you tried to take sabji with fork spoon and putting that papad in daal. Bro respect, but that's not how we should eat these things.

Ah yea. the dogs guiding you on the trail, great part about hiking in Nepal! I know that he always wears trail runners but they must not be ideal for this hike.
