Have you ever seen oxygen masks which drop automatically on DASH 8 or ATR for example?
No, because these types are also certified to FL250. The procedure is as follows:
During the loss of cabin presure the flight crew starts emergency descent and only the Flight Attendants have portable oxygen bottles with masks under their jumpseats. FAs seats on jumpseats wearing the crew masks. Then, once the safe alt is reached crew is able to supply passengers who needs assistance with portable oxygen from the same bottle. On ATRs we had One bottle under each jumpseat with crew mask and 4 spare masks for passengers who needs oxygen after decompression. Some Atrs have special oxygen outlets in the overhead compartments to which you can attach the spare masks. Hope it helped

Awesome vid! I flew on the Yak 40 from Domodedovo airport in Moscow to Yoshkar Ola, Mari El back in the early 2000s. The tram from the terminal to where the Yak 40 was like going through a bone yard w/ some aircrafts with missing engines, windows, etc. I was a bit nervous. My wife and I sat the the very front row, next to the cockpit. The pilot wasted no time to get airborne. It was suprisingly the smoothest flight I encountered after taking two other commerical jets to get to Moscow. It was a memerial flight for me!

My first experience of air travel was in the late 60's on a BOAC Bristol Britannia. Heathrow to somewhere in Italy. The aircraft was dubbed 'The whispering giant', unfortunately that only applied to the outside, the inside was like travelling in a large bean can being attacked by pneumatic drills. I couldn't hear for three weeks afterwards.

Oxygen masks are not required up to 25000ft when you can ensure that your reach 13000ft within four minutes. While your were only flying at 20000ft, even a regular descent rate would bring you to that altitude within four minutes.

I love the whiny sound of the older louder engines as they spool up, and the round windows! And some of the best looking jets in my opinion were the ones with 3 engines, I miss them.

in FL200 you have around 10 mins without oxygen. So I think enough time to descend. And hope crew has oxygen masks. But the question is how high JAK40 fly with pax?

Yak-40 was always a blessing compared to AN-24. I flew from Kyiv and into Kyiv many times on both planes back in the 80's and early 90's.

6000M isn't quite enough for severe hypoxia, you'd endure the descent without much harm. I'm guessing that's why no passenger o2.
