The American Regional Airline You've Probably Not Heard Of
video description
A friend and I flew ourselves into Pensacola back in 07. We were flying a 172 from Clearwater to New Orleans and stayed there for the night. We never realised you change time zones and lose an hour so were a bit puzzled how long our flight had taken when we saw the clock in the FBO! Must be strange living there being able to drive between one time zone and another just down the road. Good for that extra beer.
By the way, easy nav from Clearwater to New Orleans. just keep the beach on your right! Looking forward to seeing you try get back home. good luck and thanks for the great entertainment.

I did elementary and college in Pensacola. Small town but not much to do other than the beaches. I'm actually working on my commercial pilot's license now and one of our instructors flew for Silver before the pandemic hit and they laid him off. I agree the pink is outstanding color wise and I wish they would go up to Jets as they were actually expanding to more Southern states before it all hit. As a born and raised Floridian I would definitely consider them if they made the jump to jets as the big airlines love pilots with jet time.

Silver left my local airport (KJAX) a couple years ago, but they've decided to come back later this year. Interestingly, they were the had the only international flight from our international airport (Bahamas somewhere, but they aren't bringing that one back for the time being. The airport's social media was hyping up the new direct connection to New Orleans that we'll have with them.

Panama City and Destin/Fort Walton Beach started seeing increased traffic with Southwest and Allegiant coming inas well as Frontier and Spirit serving Pensacola.
They call that area of the panhandle FloBama because youre on the border of Florida and Alabama.
Donutland puts Dunkin Donuts to shame.
Fort Walton Beach is sometimes abbreviated as FWB.

International just means that the airport has customs and immigration on site. It has nothing to do with whether there are scheduled international flights. In the case of Pensacola, customs are probably needed for international charter flights contracted by the military.

Noel youve helped us get through a painfully awful twelve months but I have to say your latest flogs seem very rushed and have lost their edge a little. Rushing takeoff video loses the cutting start with engine sounds and build up. Thanks for the last year!

I believe they do have a small customs operations near or in the terminal. can be used for one off charters and the military uses it due to the naval air station and the UK military tends to be there a lot or Elgin AFB in fort Walton beach

Pre-pandemic - 35M passengers/year, 65 jet bridge gates, 20 airlines, and 40+ non-stop international flights to three different continents and the Caribbean. Not exactly a little airport, lovely as it may be.
Nice videos though.

Hey dude! Long time follower here, but you actually stayed across from where I live. If I knew you were here I could have told you to hit up Rustic Inn and The Field. I hope you got to try them out on your week in Miami.

Riding the pink rocket. For a moment I thought Noel was taking us into whole other world and topic. This video makes me want to get back to Florida and visit Miami and other areas. Well done, Noel!

international airports in the US are not named for serving international destinations, they are named for having class 10 runways capable of accepting aircraft that typically fly internationally.

1: 56 I wouldn't call it THAT little considering it almost has 70 gates, almost Tampa International sized, but yes certainly little compared to nearby Miami International ig lol

But nothing like the beaches on the Emerald Coast

Silver Airways is my favorite for getting around the southeast. Love Delta and SW but if I can bypass ATL on Silver, I'm on it. And I was fond of the 1900.

They probably have a cage in the bagroom for holding international freight. thats one of the minimum requirements to be an international Airport.
