Flying the TEQUILA EXPRESS! AeroMexico 787 Business Class Rob: Noel, I can only conclude that Air Mexico knew you were coming on the flight or had invited you. We flew Club Premier (Business Class) YVR-MEX-MAD May 9 and MAD-MEX-YVR June 2, 2023. I seen your review prior to leaving and was looking forward to the experience. We were imressed with the Aircraft, new 737 Max- and 787-9, one of which was less than 2 months old.
Compared to other airlines the service was shall we say lacklustre and I think the only thing Premier is the name Club Premier.
There was none of the standard service of asking your drink order before you take off. After takeoff on all 4 flights the service attendents retreated to the service area and didn't emerge for 30 to 45 minutes with a meal and drink, after which they came by took the plates and we had to ask for a refill. for water we had to ring the attendent who emerged from the service area only after finishing their conversation with fellow staff members.
On our MEX to MAD leg, no alchol was put in the common area and limited snacks were put out later in the flight, MAD to MEX the Alchol was put out then put away shortly after takeoff when turbulance was encountered. In fact after 4 hrs and the Turbulance had subsided the alchol was never put out again. Snacks including waterlogged sandwiches were put out along with candy bars and cookies, at some point one of the cabin attedents took 4 kitkat bars and put them in their carryon bag.
Unfortunately one has to fly through Mex, Air Mexico would do well not to call it a business lounge but rather a cefeteria from the 1990's well past it's best before date, Basically no hot food unless you're there at 4PM and they roll out Nachos or mini sandwiches. Who would of thought an airline would call something a business lounge with no AC at all and it's 28 degrees. In contrast the MAD business lounge was spectacular.
We found MEX to be very disrespectful to passengers, when we arrived mid afternoon about a half dozen 737's and 3 787's arrived concurrently, in immigration there were 4 immigration officials serving 15 lines about 120' long and one of the immigration officials was servicing flight crews. Of course with no AC. When we left 3 hours later our gate was close to the immigration hall, they had 14 officers servicing 2 lanes. Clearly when you said 5 min it was at that time you arrived. Departure MEX to MAD was delayed 3 hrs including at one point the gate being changed requiring a trek across the terminal.
Maybe i was expecting too much however compared to Westjet, Air Canada, BA, Cathay, JAL this airline has a long way to go to be in their league.

My opinion of Aeromexico. it sucks.
A 15 hour flight between Tijuana and Shanghai on business class, where the seats stretched out, but remained in an oblique position, causing me to wake up at the bottom of the seat.
Another time, on a flight from Tijuana to Mexico City (3. 5 hrs) at dinner time, in business class, all I got was a miniscule pot of nuts and a coca-cola.
Anogher time, as I got my food the table came apart, getting food all over my clothes, and the crew lady was upset because I asked for something to clean myself up.
I hate Mexico City airport. I always arrived at gate 36 or so and my connection would leave from gate 1 through 10. It felt like a 10 mile walk, and if you didnt have rubber soles your feet would slide back while walking when you push for forward impulse, with the dam marble floors.
I have had my share of Aeromexico, even if it is better than Volaris. I believe the best Mexican airline is Interjet.

You have just flown for 12 hours in a high performance business class and the freaking cash only bus driver didnt give a damn and left. Needless to mention, you dont even speak their language. But you did get tequila. Welcome to Mexico! BTW demanding cash, especially outside the airport is the biggest sign of how lawless and non trustworthy the region is. It is impossible I mean impossible if any organized and apparently regulated means of transportation asks for cash no matter where in the world.

Only just discovered this site recently and though I am not much of a plane geek I really enjoy watching. My first ever flight was from Melbourne to Sydney in 1968 was up in a 727 and back in a DC9. I was 8 and thought that I would die of excitement. Still remember the thrill of it all, feeling so cool. It was with Ansett, my stepmum was the personal secretary to the Victorian manager. I was hooked after that.

Planning to visit Mexico City for the first time myself later this year but from california. We have a direct flight from here on volaris and another with a connection on gdl on Aeromexico. I'm thinking about taking the Aeromexico even without being nonstop just because their first class seems really nice. Even though it would be on 737s

I have taken the Heathrow to Mexico City and back many times, and I have to say your review was pretty fair. Once you step out into the street though it becomes the real Mexico so I am not surprised about that little bus experience. I am still waiting for the Inter-terminal train to work? The rails have been built for years.

Love your videos, they have me kind of interested in flying. I'm afraid of heights. I also loved the amount of tequila they wanted to share. :) Have considered the 'shaving cream on the glasses' trick for anti fogging? It worked for my aunt, just a thought. Anyways, safe travels and keep the videos coming.

Ill never forget my English friend originally from Yorkshire but who has been in Australia for a long time, telling me that she had been to Paris for a weekend. It completely blew my mind. We travel bloody hours to get anywhere apart from Bali and the beautiful Vanuatu. Twelve hours is nothing to us Aussies.

There is an aerotren which is a train that takes you to terminal 1 or 2 for free if you show your ticket or hotel reservation. In terminal 1 it's locates between doord 4 and 5, and in terminal 2 it's located next to the domestica side of departures (although some intl departures from that side)

Travelled from Australia to LA then caught an Aeromexico flight from LA to Mexico City the flight and service from good but probably the thing I remember the most is sitting next to an old lady who spent the whole flight crying while saying the rosary. Yes one of my more memorable flights

I just flew the 787-9 on AM from MEX-MAD, and the service and food were very mediocre. Well see how things are on the way back, but I was disappointed. There was definitely no bar on my flight either. I wonder why things seem to have been so different in February compared to now.

Noel, you videos are highly entertaining. However, you need to know that theres not a single Mexican that says: Arriba, arriba every time they speak unless theyve singing rancheras. Also no, most of them dont use sombreros. Cliches are fun, but tiresome at the same time.

Love the video Noel. Also love your 'blog' type entries around the hotel, when you're on an Island, couple of my favourites have when you've been to local restaurants too, would love to see more of that content in extended/extra videos!

The premier class seats on the /9 are far better than the /8, where they are in a 2/2/2 configuration. AM business class is very decent, like most airlines. But don't ever upgrade from eco to prem eco, that would be a disappointment.

Thanks for the incredible video Noel! I am a Mexican living in New Zealand and I always get this enormous wave of homesickness when I see an Aeromexico plane when I get the opportunity to fly overseas.

I flew this aircraft last week from CDG to MEX, from MEX to CUN and then from MEX to MAD and the seat in business class is not full flat! It goes does 180 degrees but it is not flat.

I've been on Aeromexico before and some people really do take. advantage of the free tequila. Sat in front of two gentlemen that would have been in trouble if they had to drive

Noel was quite often not honest about his reviews! He praised PIA and said Egypt air is the worst I think PIA has the worst reputation ever, try to be more honest Noel cmon!

Indeed TEQUILA EXPRESS was a turistic railroad from Guadalajara to Tequila, now is operated as JOSE CUERVO EXPRESS and TEQUILA HERRADURA EXPRESS, I recommend highly both

Looks like AeroMexico's B-787-900 not bad look aircraft. The only aircraft's I used over the last 12 years 777, 747 & A320, A330. Dreamliner 787 is on my bucket list.
