If you have to open the door because you're too hot try using bigger logs. I have to laugh at folks spending so much time splitting wood and then saying it's too hot. The more surface you expose the faster and hotter the wood burns. You you can also slow the burn by using the air vent and damper. You will use less wood and save time splitting all that kindling by using bigger logs less exposed surface area to burn. I use to heat a house with wood and the principle is the same big or small.

Hi Mike I like you modded Lavvu I did a similar mod to my own polish lavvu a few years back love it, looks like you need a couple of inches on your center pole, or the one in the tent is not centered I used a piece of Hazel don't think your short of any of that. regards Stewart

Great place to camp; maybe once you know how long a center pole you need you could up a permanent pole in place then all you'd have to do is set up around it and you wouldn't have to get a new pole every time you want to camp just find a central place to set up a permanent camp at

Great video as always. I do wonder though.
Has anything ever spooked you when you are on your own camping at night? Like in an otherworldly kind of way? Personally i would rather be in the woods on my own at night than in a town centre at night. All the best from lancashire.

I'm thinking that if you don't have a convenient tree to replace the centre pole, you could make up a tripod that would fit on the outside of your tent and use that as the centre pole -- effectively moving the pole to the outside of the tent.

As I was watching your video I noticed how you had 2 poles going up out of your tent: 1 structural and 1 for your stove, and I wondered if it would be possible to create a single pole in the center for both your stove and your support. Thanks for the video. :)

I like the lavvu mod, makes it even more versatile! hearing the wildlife is one of my favorite things about camping in the woods. I don't get out as much as I'd like since I don't drive but when I do get a ride to a camp spot it's well worth the wait

Look at you with your fancy zippy bell lavvu, I'm so itching to get mine out for a mission into the woods and I can't wait my bushcraft Spain button in center to arrive so I can finally stretch out in my lavvu for once in winter and hopefully not melt
