Whether I eat in the airport or on the plane depends on the departure time and length of the flight. Since I fly economy, for short haul flights I would probably eat in the airport. Long haul--eat on the plane. At least semi-decent food is usually served on long-haul flights, even in economy. (My experience is admittedly limited) Usually on domestic short haul flights in US, you can purchase a lunch box type meal of a stale sandwich and processed cheese and crackers, so best to eat in the airport or bring your own food. I prefer aisle seats on any flight over an hour or two, so I can take an occasional stroll around the cabin to keep my circulation going: -) I would be quite happy to fly business class on the Cathay Pacific A350. What a luxury just to be able to actually lie down Someday.

I've never been a big fan of HKG. it seems a bit monochrome and sterile to me. The fact it is so large makes getting around a PITA as well. In Asia, I much prefer Singapore's Changi Airport. As for lounges, I have been to Cathay's The Wing lounge multiple times and the Emirates lounge and while they are both nice, I prefer the food offerings at Emirates. I also much prefer filling up in the lounge before a flight to eating the reheated slop served onboard. even in Business or First. This is especially so when flying Emirates as I find their lounge food offferings to be particularly good. (I hope the current round of belt-tightening doesn't change this) In fact, the EK FAs in First often feel bad when I often decline to dine onboard and constantly ask me if I want something to eat.

As far as I am concerned, THIS is first class A cabin arranged so EVERYBODY gets aisle access, therefore bathroom access I have a tiny, hyperactive bladder And the chance to get my poor scarred legs up, so I don't have circulation trouble and another attack of cellulitis? That's GOLD AND a lovely entertainment system. To answer your question, not having any worries about the flight accept the awful ear pain, I would be gleefully noshing my way though the lounge area. Popping decongestants all the way. Then, on the plane, I would luxuriate in the pages of the menu, languidly choosing dinner and breakfast. No alcohol, just water and tea. Alcohol is very hard on the body when on a plane. This is a lovely bus indeed.

Cathay's lounges are really one of the best - if not the best - in the world. I say that from my extensive Business Class flying over the decades. Even in HK, if you've ever been to say The Priority Pass Lounge you will know what I mean: very limited and bad food and drink, always packed and sometimes dated decor etc. So never take anything for granted The best Cathay ones are obviously the HK ones, I would always go there earlier to enjoy some time before boarding. The 2nd best one is the newly renovated Taipei lounge, closely followed by Tokyo. The ones in mainland China are always lagging for some reason with a strange atmosphere in my opinion (anyone feels the same for the Shanghai one for instance)

The main course meal looked pretty sloppy to me. The dishes and size seem more like generous economy than Business class. Usually Business class strive to serve the main course on actual plates or something very similar and they serve each course separately. The edges of the lemon parsley butter show signs of the food having been kept in that way for hours and reheated just like that. Presentation is also messy. There is also no reason why the dessert can't be brought separately after the main course is complete, rather than crowding the limited eating area? Thanks for a great informational video as always

Great video. Can you comment on the quality of the seat finishes? Recently Flew CX712 from SIN through BKK onto HKG, and I found many of the finishes on the seats borderline unacceptable. For a new plane, plastic finishes were peeling, and the portion of the seat beside the armrest was in a state where you could almost pull it off entirely. I saw the flight attendants struggling with putting down many of the arm rests too, in addition to being able to remove the entire plastic console inside the arm rest. Such a shame, because the product itself is phenomenal.

If the belly cam was still working, it would have been nice to get the tail shot of the main gear touchdown then to switch to belly cam to get nose gear touchdown, then back to tail cam showing the air brakes. When it comes to window seats, I don't care for the new angle seating in first or business class's. The good old DC-8-63 or L-1011 were some of the best. You sit next to the window for a great view. But that's only my personal opinion. Thanks for the video, I look forward for many more.

I love the mini cabin. I've flown CX's A350 twice last year and will fly them twice in August and always choose seat 20A. While this seat is great, my new favourite is the JAL Sky Suite on the 787s. The staggered window seat layouts combined with the privacy barrier between the window and aisle seat makes it the most private business class seat going. I'll be doing the Oman Air business class product at the end of the year which is supposed to be similar to JAL>

That looks like a very credible Business class product. While I know of your fear of flying, for my (fearless) self, I would take full advantage of the lounge food. No matter how nicely presented airplane food is, the pressurized atmosphere of the cabin dulls the senses. For myself, I would take advantage of the wine/beverage list, and get a nice, long slumber in the lie-flat seat. Another great report, tLTE
