EL PASO: Ground Zero For Illegal Migrant Entry - What We Actually Saw
video description
I visited there years ago and stayed in a B&B mansion on snob hill that became the home of the sheriff at one point. He had iron bars and a cell door installed in the basement so he could take prisoners home on his weekends when the office was closed. A truly charming town!

Just want to say hello. Today I watched several of your videos. El Paso: Ground Zero, I grow up in El Paso, and that pond downtown with the statue of several alligators. That location in (1960's) use to be the downtown city park to exit or catch a city bus back to your neighborhood. I was with my mother, age 5yrs. Well back then that pond had water with live alligators. It was the typical blue color like a swimming pool and had maybe 4 to 5 alligators in it. FYI. take care, great show.

A few years ago, one night, members of one of the cartel's hit men lined about 13 people against a wall and shot them all to death in cold blood and took all the valueables these people had and left their bodies on the ground and a short time later, I think, 24 more people ended the same way. The first area you drove through, people who have lived there for a while, won't even go to. That town has been ground zero for years and years, and the media just figured that out.

UK here, love your videos and try to watch them as often as possible, have a long list to catch up though. Just wonder why you stay in chain hotels rather than local ones, or such as can serve the economies better in the places you visit. Not a criticism, would just love to see those places, as chains are pretty same same. Anyhow, thanks for all your efforts, I share your videos and LEARN ESPANOL por favor. You wife's accent is really good

One of my favorite things about El Paso was the scent of creosote in the air. They’re these shrubby little plants that smell like ozone or fresh rain. Sometimes you’d think it was about to rain, but it’d just be a draft of wind carrying some creosote scented air in through the windows. Then when monsoon season kicked in the scent of both rain and creosote was incredible!

In canada we see news of migrants sleeping in the streets, sleeping all over the floors of the train stations and the main airport and the streets. Reports of mugging, SA of women, garbage and fights. It's been reported that El Paso is in severe distress due to thousands of illegal immigrants from Mexico. It's been shown to Canadians to be almost a death trap to visit.

I lived here in the early 90’s for 4 years, I’m originally from NC mountain area, I didn’t like it there, I did like feeding people in Juarez Mexico, I was with a Christian ministry then working. Visited a few years back, its great to visit but I didn’t like living there. El Paso is huge with east, west north and south elpaso it still looks the same.

best city in texas because it's not as humid and uncomfortably hot like the other major texas cities, and it has actual mountains, although the hill country of austin and san antonio is pretty. el paso has that true southwest feel, san antonio a little too, but most of texas cities feel much closer to the southeast than the southwest

In the opening of this video of El Paso there is a building that looks just like the one in Amarillo that you could not believe it was empty. Perhaps the same use The building looks like a horseshoe above the entry in the front with several floors of windows above. This is at. 54 minutes into the video of El Paso.

Lifelong El Pasoan here, living on the west side. I used to hate living there because I thought nothing happened. It turns out I was just a kid who had trouble realizing just how much beautiful history we have. There’s something incredible about looking over the border wall and seeing a whole other country.

Back in the late 60's spent a little time at fort Bliss we spent most of our time training at Mc Greager range New Mexico. We would catch the bus to Bliss then a bus to El Paso then walk across to Juarez. Never explored El Paso don't remember anything about the city. I do enjoy your video's.

You pronounced Chihuahuita better than your wife did. She added another syllable to it that should not be there- she called it Chihuahua-ita, which is wrong. It only has two A's in it - not three. She probably cannot pronounce Tijuana correctly either.

Legal immigrants spend years and thousands of $$$$ to gain entry into this country others just walk across the border. something seems inherently unfair about this!

You and your lady friend are really having a good time talking down the people of old El Paso. You'll probably want to track down Governor Abbott and lick his boots.
