This is excellent, you're doing so well. Just one question: When you use your waterproof pack cover, did you, I mean ARE you also using dry bags inside the pack for things like clothing? I know from your other video that you have some small things like paper in zip lock bags, but just wondering if you are using the bigger dry bags for everything else at the same time you're using that water-proof pack over.
Well I'll let you get back to your walking. Keep Strong!

So. I think my friend who is hardcore AL fan, has a more explicit TN hate version of rocky top. it is funny. people down here take the football thing serious: )
How is the PCT prep going? I am jealous! I have this inkling to do longer distance hiking but I doubt I will act on it till much later. my wonderful small children keep me pretty grounded at this point (curse/blessing. have fun. Enjoying your videos. slow trickle of them here and there.

It's funny, I have heard that women either maintain or gain on long trails, and men look like beanpoles at the end.
My guess for that? Women typically gain muscle slower, so I reckon you've lost what little fat you had, but have gained a little more muscle instead, and since then men already had the muscle, they just lost the fat.

I have been watching your individual AT videos recently because I'm considering hiking it myself. I had watched the original documentary over a year ago where I recognized you stayed with Kevin, but watching this clip now I see that you went to the brewery with my brother and sister in law!

Dixie, I hear you say you are doing 12 miles in one day. I trained for air assult school and I had to make 12 miles in 3hours. I was carrying a 30 lbs pack. I give you the conditions, I was marching on gravel and blacktop. I was only doing this once for this training session.

Well said.
I am amazed this hiker reports that fees are collected for a length of the trail for a restroom and guess what?
NO RESTROOMS ARE ON THIS PART OF THE TRAIL!
This should serve as a powerful example of how ineffective most governments are.

HA! I LOVE that version of Rocky Top! I don't have a dog in that rivary but I lived in Nashville for a spell and got to go to a few of those games. I liked the Bama fans. they were top shelf pro hecklers and haranguers; )

You seem to be smiling and upbeat 98% of the time but as we can see, all it takes to get you down is to be without a privy. Ahh, it is the simple things we cherish most. Thank you for sharing your adventure.

Great example of the ineffectiveness of taxation.
Everybody pays 20 to hike that portion of trail, presumably so enough money can be collected to build toilets and, guess what?
Not a single toilet.
