Dixie makes it to the point where she first decided that she wanted to hike the trail years ago. WoodsTrekkin': It's cool that this is where your AT fascination began. I had read of the AT before going to the Smoky Mountains when I was 12 or 13 with my family. I knew it snaked through the area by Clingman's Dome and I begged until my dad walked a mile or so on the trail with me. I have wanted to hike the trail ever since but life always had a way of getting in the way! Maybe someday. Thanks for sharing your know, edge and experiences on the trail.

Late to the party but enjoying your videos, gear reviews, etc. Commenting on this video (hope you see it) because my grandkids call us Mimi and Papa too. We only day hike but canoe/camp every year in the Boundary Waters and took our oldest granddaughter (now 9) the last two years (grandson next summer. They (and we) love the wilderness and it would be cool to hike the AT someday before we get too old. Wondering how old is too old?

1: 28 What the hell? Look at the size of the little girl's pack compared to the size of the big boy's pack. Does this really mean that the big strong guy is carrying a way smaller pack than the lady? Someone tell me what's going on here, is that true?

Love the video. The music, at least at that volume level is too distracting. I hope your ankle and knees get batter before PA. Maybe even think about some footwear with sturdy soles. Good luck and keep the smiles.

Hey I've figured out a better trail name for you if you decide to go with something different. Say hello to Shimmy! Shimmy Shimmy Shimmy! Isn't that a good one! Now you really regret making the hygiene video lol

loving watching your journey - you look like you've had an awesome time! I went camping for the first time last week and have been totally bitten by the bug - this trail looks like such an awesome adventure!

HomemadeWanderlust 6: 35 What did you sew onto your bandanna? Purpose? weight? I'm planning on section hiking this summer to test my pack, shelter, and adjusting my base weight. preparing to hike NOBO

Watching Dixie out of sequence. Definitely a little younger acting here somehow. I guess most views of episodes happen in the days and weeks following their release but they're still good.

What you call horse exhaust I grew up calling 'road apples' LOL. We had Amish in our farming neighborhood so there were quite a few road apples.

I own a piece of property 10 miles from there and 3 as the crow flys to the AT. I can't wait to build my cabin and help shuttle hikers.
