Thank you so much for all the editing work you have done to share Dixie's adventure with us. Happy birthday!
Dixie has been such an inspiration for me. She is the first thru hiker that I came upon while researching things I would like to do in the near future. I binged watched the first ten videos to catch up and now look forward to her updates. Dixie's dedication to her adventure and the perserverence required is truly inspiring. I know she will complete this monumental achievement. 89 miles to go! Dixie has great spunk as most of us southern gals do and she is genuinely entertaining. I to hope to be able to do the AT one day (next 5 years. Dixie's journey as a group and now somewhat solo effort has encouraged me to make this a goal for myself. It really helps that she reminds us when she is alone and not afraid!
I am 6 mths away from completing a 3-year life changing plan. I just completed nursing school and turned 50 this month. I will soon be adventuring and traveling life solo and look forward to all things that I didn't do while taking care of family and putting their needs first. I'm spreading my wings and Dixie has reminded me of how far I can spread them. Her adventure has rekindled a dream I had 20 years ago of attempting the AT. Please accept this truly heartfelt thank you for sharing this adventure with us.

Happy Birthday! Dixie, my wife and I day hiked sections of the AT this summer in Massachusetts and Vermont. I followed anther hiker for the last bit. Mark Yeager, a hike who has Type 1 Diabetes like me. I then found your vlog and I just love to enthusiasm and ability to forge through though times. My wife and I have an AT thru hike in our sites in the next few years. We both love watching your great attitude and ability to press on. Best of luck on the trail.

I've been watching your videos since the start and have enjoyed every one and always eagerly awaited more. Am anxious to hear what you thought of the HMW. Hope your summit was everything you expected. It is quite an accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself. I feel like I know you now after all these months so will add that I'm proud of you too. Thanks for being such a great inspiration to us!

I was thinking about what it must feel like to make it to Katahdin as well - I don't think it's unreasonable to think you'd cry. It would have to feel insanely emotional to finally reach the end and complete the AT. I MUST do this. I just need to plan and come to terms with being away from my cats for so long. xD

I know for a Fact that Dixie will make it. Shes got a good head on her shoulders and tell her Happy Birthday. One hell of a late Birthday Present, finishing the whole trail. Im going to do it in 2 years, from Georgia to Pa, with a false leg. My trail name is going to be Pegleg. Keep it up Dixie, good Luck.

Happy B-Day Whitney. Dixie's entire trip has inspired me. Her story has been one of my favorite of all the stories I have followed. I am definitely going to miss all the updates but life goes on. Thank you both.
