CDT 2018: Wind River Range. Dixie's little brother and boyfriend join her as she enters one of the most beautiful sections of the trail. StarFlower99654: We hiked Caine's Head trail here in Alaska and put our food up in a tree when we camped out on the point. Early in the morning, I could hear rustling around and just knew a bear was out there trying to get our food. When I peeked out I didnt see anything so I got all the way out of the tent. I found that a raven had ripped open the bag we hung all our food up in spilling out all our mountain house and cliff bars. I managed to find everything but one of the mountain house meals, I even had help from 5 other hikers in our party. That raven must have flew off with it as it never did show up. LOL

I was a member of the special warfare community for a few years and even an Eagle Scout and at no time in my 36 years of life have I ever been to nor will be able to accomplish something like you have Dixie. War Eagle btw. I live in MD not far from Harpers Ferry on the AT as you know. I have PTSD from deployment and watching your videos every Wednesday calms me. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.

60 days and I start my 2000 mile drive from VA to see the Winds. Not sure why I tear up when you come over the hill. Maybe it's because a Florida boy didn't see this growing up. My first exploratory trip to the Wyoming area. First into the actual wilderness. Hope to move there forever in a couple of years.

I did exactly the same thing your brother did in a cirque lake in Colorado years ago -- in and out almost before my backpacking buddy could get a picture. Great videos - I started w/ your CDT videos, as I've hiked a few miles of it myself, but will definitely check out your other two! Keep up the great work!

As a professional photographer who loves camping 3-4 miles up into the Winds, I will tell you there is no finer spot on Earth. no more peaceful, serene spot than in the Winds. Monument Valley (when tourists are not there) comes close. But the Winds are a very special spot.

I'm kinda interested where they are now; I was in Yellowstone last week and it would be kinda interesting if this person whose adventures I've been following for a couple years was there at the same time. You're an inspiration, and I hope you know that: )

I don't know how you guys feel, but when I get home from a too long day at work, I need to hear Dixie sharing the adventure I can only dream of right now. Girl you are doing missionary work whether you know it or not. Thank You!

Haha, love how at around 09: 54 the subtitles say applause at the sound of rain. Gone remember that next time hiking in the rain and be thankful that the skies find me worthy of applause and are cheering me on!

In hind sight, what order would you hike the big three hikes in the US (PCT, CDT, AT) and why? I ask because I'd like to start planning a thru hike but fear I can only do one.

What if you inserted a map of the area you are hiking? I believe all of us would love to follow you as you trek through these beautiful paths of America. PLEASE. thx
