Moronic reviewer to say the least. Who else would criticize a pragmatic vehicle for being pragmatic? You dont buy a small, easy to park, reliable, safe, economical vehicle to go racing. This car is so well engineered, its a marvel. It does everything it is supposed to do extremely well and of course things that it isnt supposed to do, like haul ass or fit four 250 pound adult slugs, it doesnt do. After you own your smarmy BMW go ahead and add up the cost of ownership and all those over-priced German parts and then get back to me. We looked at every single crossover in the market and the UX F Sport was easily the best choice. FOR US. As far as the complaint about the touch pad, all you have to know is youre buying a complex machine and with that goes the responsibility of learning how to use it. Open up the OWNERS MANUAL and become familiar with the section on VOICE COMMANDS. Once you do this, your hands never have to leave the steering wheel. 95% of anything youd ever want to do. you can do with VOICE COMMANDS. The best part of all is Lexus treats its customers wonderfully. Our dealership is fantastic and always there if we should run into any kind of problem. Were very happy customers and the UX is the best vehicle for our needs. bar none.

Jeez. I find this entire product segment to be confusing. The line between SUVs and hatchbacks is by far the most blurry in the subcompact CUV category. And as a GTI owner I suppose I feel a bit offended by the entire category. :) As far as the UX is concerned while I hesitate to criticize Toyota/Lexus in terms of their design choices since they obviously know their market, it certainly appears that Lexus phoned this one in. At 177 long, the UX stretches the sub-compact category practically to the compact CUV space. (The Mazda CX-5 is only two inches longer) And what does it offer to make it a luxury vehicle other than a badge? Certainly not performance. Not interior trim. Not unique luxury bells and whistles. Just a badge and very good fuel economy. Since when do luxury buyers prioritize fuel economy over literally every other feature? All in all, this model strikes me as fodder for comments at the country club along the lines of Poor Fred, looks like hes not doing well financially. Had to settle for an imitation Lexus. Great review as always, Alex. The comment about Frankensteins monsters neck bolts made it all worthwhile.

Despite the re-badging haters, Alex nailed it. This car is a pragmatic and needed inclusion. Until the Tesla this year, the RX 350 was the best selling luxury car in America. Lexus expects this car to outsell even the RX. For someone who wants a RELIABLE and sensible small luxury car with great mileage (rather than a buzzy tin box, this luxury entry was a long time coming. Its a Lexus in every regard. Lexus has a reputation for NEVER rebadging but instead truly differentiating above the Toyotas. This car will be a sales hit; thats pretty much the bottom line. And dont hate a car for an economical engine or a small back seat, just buy a car that suits your purpose. This platform is a Toyota CH-R with a Corolla drivetrain. This car is for Corolla Hatch people who choose to pay for a Lexus. Not a bad idea when Corollas sell in the millions.

I dont get why people are so negative about this vehicle. Owning this car for over a month now here is a list of I have experienced with the UX 250h luxury package. The e-all wheel drive works well in winter conditions ( I live in Canada) giving you traction when you needed. This is not a performance car in any way but is fast enough for what it is and handling is just matched to the car as well. This is not a family vehicle, if you have two small children you may be okay cargo is limited. Interior of the car does not scream luxury on all the sense of the word but is nicely finished and the instrumentation very well laid out. The big plus is that it takes regular gas compared to the turbo engines that take premium.

To spend 34, 000 on a car only to praise the 40 mpg is not very smart for a buyer. If you care about MPG, then it means the cost of the car is much more important. 20k, 25k is the range I would recommend going, with similar MPG. If you want to spend 34k on a small car, then go ahead its your money. But for 34k you can get much much better options, including full size cars or medium size SUVs at only minimal extra MPG usage. The fact that there is nothing luxury about CVTs and FWD kills it in instantly. Fake AWD on this is ridiculous. Add to that no utility and the industries worst user interface with its touchpad and I have no idea what confused person buys this thing. Then there is the fact that this is one of the slowest luxury vehicle on sale in the States today. This is a Toyota, not a Lexus. Very dissapointed. XC40 is the choice here

I have to say I dont think the value is there for the ux. Not with the 2020 Mazda CX 30 coming out. It may not have the mileage that the hybrid ux has but it has similar if not greater horsepower expected. It has a better shape using a similar exterior design and an interior that is of comparable quality. I think value-wise the cx30 will be a much better bargain then the ux.

Toyota / Lexus are my favourite brands but this is just a huge disappointment. How did they even manage to get so little interior space in a car this big. Is this what happens when gender quotes take over car companies? Why does the women who designed the universally hated Lexus infotainment touchpad system get to design such an important model after all that critique?

Took my wife to a Toyota dealer to check out the new RAV4. She liked it but fell IN LOVE with the UX for roughly the same price. The RAV4 is roomier and more practical, but the UX feels more special. Ended up putting a deposit down on the UX250H. Do not disregard brand cache on par with BMW with Lexuss history of reliability and resale.

Lexus should never have brought out the UX. I have always thought Lexus stood for luxury and excellence. guess not. The interior is cheap and boring and noisy. F-Sport, seriously? The engines are also slow, but if youre ONLY looking for fuel economy, then okay. All in all, should be ranked dead last as a compact luxury CUV.
