After their first EV names so well - 'Leaf', I would have expected a similar name stressing on the fact that its EV. like Petal or Stigma. Ariya is not just not as catchy for their EV fleet.
The car design looks promising though! I am loving this electrification war. Waiting to see more electrified SUVs & Minivans from Kia, Hyundai, Mazda n Nissan, especially after launch of Rav4 Prime, Venza Hybrid, Sienna Hybrid by Toyota.

Strange you did not mention (unless I missed it, the haptic feedback for some the controls? Love to hear how well they perform, when you can get your hands on them.
BTW, I do not know of any CCS level 2 (ie SAE J1772) in the US, that is at a faster rate, than what the Ariya will have? But ofc in the EU (and Tesla) use a different non-SAE protocols, that can be 3x as fast. But it is an apples to oranges comparison.

I really like how they integrated those buttons into that wood look trim. Everyone else is using disgusting gloss black plastic. I never thought I would say this but it seems the rest of the carmakers need to take notes from Nissan. That is very well done.
It is nice to have those separate. And the volume control knob is so well integrated omg. So it clearly can be done. Why is everyone else not doing this?

It look this, nice, I never really like Nissan Products, but this is cool, Very Good Job Nissan. I now have two pure EV vehicle that I like, this Nissan Airya and the Ford Mach-E, but I am still not interesting in driving or owning a pure EV. For my life style and my way of viewing the world around me, a Hybrid system best meet my need now and in the future.

Finally, Nissan came to its senses and built an ev with liquid cooled batteries! This should have been implemented in the 2018 Leaf.
Passive air cooled batteries just don't work in this day and age, no matter how conservatively you program the BMS. People want to quick charge and be on their way rather than wait at a DC fast charger that bills by the minute.

I actually like the look of this. Nissan needs some good vibes right now, and this shows they haven't fallen completely over the edge. The new Sentra looks really well done, they're coming with a new Frontier(the current model is 16 years old, and now this. Hopefully Nissan won't make prices to insane and I believe Nissan still has EV tax credits left.

If they stick to the 40k price with a 300 mile range, they would sell well. At this point the cheapest Model Y is 50k and the yet-to-be announced RWD model would probably still be significantly over 40k. My only beef would be the front wheel drive - my old LEAF with less power was already a tire shredder. 2WD EVs really need to drive their rear wheels.

Looks great, but I'm concerned as to how long these batteries last before being replaced, and the replacement costs. I wonder if the rush to EV is just another revenue stream for them to sell you batteries or simply force you to have to buy a new car when the battery dies cuz it's not economical enough to replace the battery.

Don't forget that cargo measurement outside of North America typically is measured to below the cargo cover (e. g. the Nissan X-Trail only has 565 litres of cargo space whereas the Rogue has 1, 112. So I think you'll find that by North American standards, the Ariya will still have reasonable capacity.

Does the Nissan logo on the front light up? I was hoping that crap would stay confined to Mercedes. Other than that I really like the design. Also nice to have a proper name instead of some alphanumeric designation. Not sure about the touch sensitive controls in the interior, though.
