How is the infotainment system here light years ahead of what is on the LS? is there anything you have access to on this not on the LS? Unless your definition of light years ahead is intuitiveness which in my opinion is very subjective at the end of the day. The new LS has more tech than there is in this s class without a doubt and has far more seat adjustments front and rear. There all have their pros and cons compared to each other, but i prefer the LS interior and build quality compared to this. The seats in this car around the base is made of plastic like on most cars. The LS is leather wrapped and stitched at the base, something only found on Rolls Royce level. It isnt fair to compare the Lexus Ls price with the s 560, u should know that. The Ls is a twin turbo v6 and should be compared with the s450 which is also a twin turbo v6. The LS starts around 80k while the S450 is around 90k which is a 10k difference and that isnt much in this segment. There are rumours Lexus is working on a twin turbo v8 and when that comes to the LS then you can compare it with the s560. You also tested the noise levels in the Ls 500 and u got the same 68 decibels as on this new s class. It just shows theres really not much between them other than just preference and brand loyalty.

I always thought I might be the only wierd person who preferred amber turn signals. Especially when you have a full LED tail light set up. However, my number one pet peeve; I hate when the brake light becomes the turn signal. This means that between the two tail lamps only, you are consistently dropped down to 1 tail lamp, every time you slow down for a turn. Not including the third brake light. 1 main thing I love on My Genesis G80 Sport is full LED tail lights with a seperate strip like amber turn signals. Now similar to the tail lights, is it so difficult to make seperate front led turn signals from the led running light. Very few cars have that, but some do. I constantly see cars with led head light modules, and when they put the turn signal on, the remaining led running light appears as if the car has 1 eye open Anyone agree?

Alex you should have reviewed your 2 detailed reviews of the 2015 S Class before talking about the 2018 refresh - in particular the comments on the front seat comfort. The 2015 you rated 10/10 saying that they are the best with the quote if you cant find a comfortable position you are not human. The seats in the 2018 and 2015 are exactly the same seats No change. There were a couple of other similar statements beyond just the seats. This is the first of your reviews that was a for me a disappointment in its presentation of information and opinions. Joe

Great review. Im glad you compared the BMW M760Li to the Mercedes S65 AMG. Many often compare it to the S63 and thats just wrong. BMWs answer to the S63 sedan is the Alpina B7. The best between the Maybach S560/650, the Bentley Flying Spur and the Rolls Royce Ghost is a matter of opinion. I agree with you are that the Bentley Flying Spur is statelier than the Maybach S560/650. Sure, the Maybach has some features that the Flying Spur doesnt (like Auto-parking. However, from a styling and design perspective, the Flying Spur wins the Maybach hands down.

Great Review I simply love the W222 and especially the facelift with the AMG Exterieur. Benchmark within its class. One thing i have to correct: the base engine is not a V6, its an R6 (inline 6cylinder. Its the first mass produced beltless engine which is achieved by using an integrated startergenerator. This startergenerator also produces up to 22PS and 250Nm of what Mercedes calls EQ Boost (electric boost. Amazing engine i was just able to test myself in the CLS450. Definitly something you should have a look atKeep up the good work

I think with the SUV craze in America, and the general space advantages that class brings, I think youll see vehicles in this class lose market share to luxury SUVs like the Lincoln Navigator, Range Rover Extended wheelbase, the Rolls Royce Cullinan, etc. That trunk was really tiny after you put the fridge in there. Thats not an issue in a big ass SUV. Id love for Mercedes to full update the GLS and give it a lot of the interior comfort and features you see in this car.

this is the worst review you ever did it is strange that you said the ride is A not A+++++this is weird to me. it is much better than any competition cars including the bently and Royce i am shocked that you said so. the seats of BMW cannot even compete with the merc. the merc as i tested it and own it is amazingly the best seats, ride, and cabin noise but its your opinionbut really the Lincoln SUV is better than the Merc? Shoooot

I have gone back and forth between the 7 series and S class for 20 years. I always pick the 7 because I just dont see the S as 10K plus better than the 7. When Lexus puts a V8 in the LS, I will give them a shot. I like Lexuss reliability. Just rolled out of an 2013 XJ. Absolutely beautiful car that was great to drive (V8 supercharged) got stopped all the time concerning its looks. Had computer reliability problems at the end. Great review.

The Genisis is not playing the same Game as the other cars listed (there is just no prestige in the name(yet. I think the S-class and the BMW is just a matter of taste- they are both great cars. The Lexus is something special and very good. Jaguar is just not reliable enough. My pick: Basemodel- Lexus LSTopend- Merc when looking for ultimate comfort and style in below Rolls Royce levelBMW when looking for something big, cosy and fun.

This is made for the Chinese market these days. Honestly, I would of rather have a standard wheel base S class. As the primary driver, the thought of driving around a limo takes away the panache of the S class Having said that, I also would rather have the coupe version anyway. I do believe Mercedes no longer consider the U. S. its primary market of concern anymore.
