Very good review. I currenty own a 335i which is plagued with problems and expensive to maintain if you dont do it yourself. I got a bad back now and cant work on my cars like I used to. I looked and drove the Lexus IS350 - too slow for 50K. Was disappointed with the acceleration which is about 1 sec. slower to 60 than the 335i. So I was almost ready to order a 2019 Mustang GT because performance is very important to me, but now you got me thinking about the Genesis to replace my aging (and very UNRELIABLE) 2011 335i that has 45k mi. and is in the shop every month. It has left me stranded a couple of times and has gone in limp mode a few times. All I do is sink into it to get it fixed. I dont think I want to go with a GT anymore that sticks out like a sore thumb, especially to cops, and costs 50K anyway (with the options I want. The G70 3. 3T is a LOT of value and plenty fast. You ll have to pay 80K-90K for an M3/M4 (or 60K-70K for an S4/SR4) if you want something a little faster than 4. 5sec 0-60 that the G70 does, and with all the options that the G70 comes with as standard. Heck a new 340i will cost you 65K with those options and closer to 70K. My 2011 335i e92 fully loaded had a sticker of 56, 400 8 years ago Believe me, I ve looked at a bunch of Bimmers and priced them out last year when I was thinking of trading my 2011 335i in, but I am done with BMW. The G70 high end model with AWD is 52K - 53K MSRP, and will beat the pants off a 335i xDrive or 340i in performance, and any Lexus that costs 10K more. Only the M3/M4 is better in performance but that will cost you at least 30K more and thats without too many options. In the BMW world EVERYTHING is optional except for power windows and A/C. You cannot find this combination of luxury and performance for 50K. I was seriously considering the Mustang GT for pure performance with upgraded leather seats, Magnetic shocks/adaptive suspension, and some other optional packages for 50K MSRP (dealer went down to 47K, but now I realize I can have TRUE luxury, plus performance with the G70 for about the same price as the GT. Acceleration is only a couple of tenths slower than the Mustang - no big deal to me. I can have AWD too which I need for NY winters. I think I have finally decided on my next 50K car which will be an all-year round car, instead of a summer car like the GT. The G70 is just as fast as a 6-sp. manual Mustang GT anyway which goes to 60 in 4. 4 sec, as compared to the auto GT which is 1/2 sec. faster (3. 9. I test drove the 2019 manual GT already the other day (w/perf. pack 1 - didnt handle too well, so I know exactly what the acceleration will be like in the G70, and thats plenty fast and is already putting a smile on my face. Not a bad looking car either - the G70. Now I gotta check out the colors. Do they come in black? I have not seen any black ones.

Hey ALEX, Another AWESOME Video- TY TY TY I just had the 3. 3TT version for 2. 5 days and the sun was shining with ZERO rain. I live in Vancouver & am a car guy. Here are the 3 negatives: (a) The back seat doesnt accommodate anyone over 59 for a journey lasting over 30 minutes. (b) The long term reliability and trade-in value is a HUGE question mark (c) the vectoring is brake applied to the inside wheel- Lots of grabbing going on during spirited driving. Now, onto the Positives - EVERYTHING ELSEThis handles like a go cart (it is a Compact car) the steering wheel feels right, the turning radius is one of the best, It has 5 ride selections, the tech is in abundance, the seats can be sporty or comfy, that engine - torque & HP is ample (4. 7 seconds from 0-60, the sight-lines are excellent, HUD displays whats needed, the adaptive cruise works really well, the 15 speaker Lexicon sound system is very good. I can go on and on. The summary is this- If you want a Value filled 4 door vehicle that looks great, has an AWESOME interior, is quick & fast when u want it to be, has the latest tech and your mother-in-law will like it too b/c in comfort mode it drives very smoothly then this is a big contender vs the Germans, Japanese and maybe Cadillac. Its an all in price for the 3. 3TT V-6 of 57, 500 Cdn. Book a test drive and see for yourself. Excellent compact 4 door sedan and if u enjoy assertive driving try the 3. 3TT. Too much funAlso, the personal touch and customer service is a huge marketing advantage for them. Cheers from Vancouver, Canada

Had the G70 been available in the US a few months back when I was in the market I would have considered it seriously. I did consider the Stinger and was suitably impressed. Id had very good experiences with two Sorentos and found the Stingers performance, driving dynamics, interior layout, and practicality to be very appealing. The warranty coverage and expected reliability and durability were pluses, as well. In the end, though, the Stinger was simply bigger than what I was looking for. Its a GT in the classic mold and I was looking for something smaller that didnt look quite so much like a cigarette boat. The G70 seems to have just about all of the pluses of the Stinger and many of the same components/features in a more compact size. Very appealing. Only one minor complaint from what Ive seen. Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis all seem to think that quilted upholstery conveys luxury. Unfortunately, it reminds me of the furniture in my grandmothers living room. Others may differ, especially if their grandparents have/had different taste.

Alex. I left BMW four years ago due to terrible assembly, reliability, and maintenance issues. and the third time my BMW left me stranded on the freeway was enough for me. Bought the 2015 G80 equivalent and quality and reliability has been more than impressive. Your question on which I would choose in the class is moot. my experience is that the European prestige badges are poorly engineered, overpriced and prone to failure. not so with a Hyundai product. In fact your question is like one hand clapping. its not reasonable to make an assessment on a new purchase without considering personal experience within the badge. its called reputation. Thank you for a well done review.

Alex, great review But one thing you said that wasnt quite accurate. You said people looking at the Stinger would cross shop it with the Dodge Charger, or Chysler 300 or the Buick Regal. ,Not quite. The Stinger (GT) competes with the Audi A5, A7, BMW 4 FastBack, Mercedes CLS, and Alpha Romeo Giulia. Stinger GT is levels above the Dodge, Chrysler, and Buick, in design, performance, and quality. It is actually compared quite a bit to the Genesis G70 by auto enthusiasts, and it outperforms the BMW, MB, and Audis I mentioned above. It even outperforms the BMW 5.

LMAO Genesis is no threat to Lexus Lexus already did everything Genesis is doing. Remember the IS300 with a 5sp and 2JZ motor nearly 2 decades ago. This is a nice car but realistically nobody will care and Lexus is elevating themselves to a higher level. I remember when Motor Trend said the G90 was better then anything Lexus built then Lexus built the LS500 with segment leading TT V6 power, dynamic styling and a bespoke interior while the G90 has the stale looks of a last gen S class and LS mix and it can only be had in a tan or black interior like a 30k Maxima.

Here in Australia, badge snobs abound in the cities. However, I was recently I was out in the bush (ie. before the sealed roads become bush tracks, & noted significantly less badge snobbery where farmers tend to value reliability over status. We dont ever get snow in any towns or country except in good years in the SE corner where The Great Divide rises to a paltry 7 300feet with a few ski resorts. Anyway, motorists dont know what a snow-tyre or all weather tyre is because were snow free. heat is the main enemy of cars. Enjoy your thorough work.

I am considering this car as next purchase. Really love the interior, but some of the switch gear on the center stack looks too shiny and cheap. I notice the climate control knobs have no temperature setting readout? Is that handled through the center display? Speaking of display, I wished they had not copied BMW like they did, that is one of the reason I wont get a 3-Series is because of the ugly tablet that is glued on to the top of the dash and the cheap plastic seats you get with lower trim levels.

im usually not even a fan of sedans, but this car is perfect and i will def buy it. i was initially gonna get the q60 red sport, but with each passing day i and the more i read about it, the less fond i became of it. i just feel like infiniti screwed that car up, even tho it has 400 hp. i just wasnt as excited over the q60 like i was when i bought my g37 a few years ago. but the genesis g70 has made me feel that excitement again, so im glad i waited a little and didnt pull the trigger on the q60.
