Any chance Toyota doesn t want to sell some huge number of full size trucks? There s no way to be certain, but I sense they sell just about all the full size trucks they want to build. I could be wrong, but it seems they built the plant in San Antonio to build 200, 000) units annually and that s what they sell. I sense they want to have something on offer but have little desire to compete (volume-wise) with Ford, etc. Those that really want a Toyota seek it out. But they don t intend to have 20% full-size pickup market share. Not claiming to have the answers, just wonder if Toyota is at all disappointed with their (full-size pickup) sales volume. They may be perfectly happy as-is.

Oh it s a world beater alright. It beats the world for the most uncompetitive pickup truck redesign of our time. The tundra manages to be a catastrophic failure for Toyota. Just like the sequoia NX LX RX RZ BZ4X. Toyota should just give up at this point since their brand new products tend to get schooled hard before it even steps into dealerships

For most folks this new Tundra will represent a poor life choice out on the road, that's because it's going to guzzle gasoline, make people judge you poorly, and further our collective descent into the hell that is climate change.

That is one ugly derivation of overly stylized vomit. I think they zigged too late and should have zagged. I thought Dodge and GMC couldn't be outdone with their chromium encrusted, scoops and doo dads but I was wrong.

I guess it looks like toyota set out to build a great all 'round truck for 60k. When you go more than that there are better options. I would be inclined to think under 60k, tundra. Over, F150.

Tundra's lack of sales has little to do with making millions of configurations, and more to do with brand loyalty. No market segment is more loyal to a brand than the full size truck buyer.
