Honda's All In On Hybrids 2023 Honda CR-V First Look

It may seem like Honda has been slow to roll out hybrids, but with the new 2023 CR-V that is about to change in a big, big way. Honda expects 50% of their new compact crossover to be their latest generation 2-motor hybrid system. To make that happen they have simplified the lineup to just four trims, two of which will be hybrids, including an affordable Sport trim sandwiched between two non-hybrid trims in the lineup.

LOL! Wow, they ve had all these years and they re STILL outdated as hell and the competition still destroys them. I m SO glad I went with the redesigned 2022 Tucson Hybrid Limited!
- No pano roof (Tucson has it)
- No 360 cam (Tucson has it. Inexcusable not to have it at this point. Over a decade old feature in all other brands now)
- No cooled seats (Tucson has it)
- Only a 9 infotainment screen (Tucson has a gorgeous widescreen 10. 25. Can even get a 12 on the new Kia Sportage)
- Only offers half digital, half analog gauge cluster - No fully digital gauge cluster. (Again, Tucson has this. Even the new Civic does)

I mean, it's gona sell but it's boring right, even the interior is boring black and dull on the high trim? Lack of cooled steats is a weird ommision in 2022, hopefully a light interior on the top trim will be offered.
Also seems like they are removing storage, no pocket behind driver, older crvs had 3 tier doors for extra storage and huge bins.
At least the lower trim looks ok in regards to lack of piano black.

Had so much hopes for this new gen CRV.
I'm sure the engine and performance are top class. Front end design is a lot better than prev gen. But interior, still looks so basic. Other competitors offer luxurious feels and looks despite the price. Example: 2021 Rogue and 2023 Sportage. But this might just be personal preferences.

The exterior couldn't have less attitude. As bland and generic as they could make it
Makes a Rav4 look like a Lambo Urus
Plus 10-15 HP less than the Rav4, in both engines, means Toyota has engineers can sleep very soundly. Honda needed a hone run here, not a bunt single. This will not gain any market share anytime soon.

I like it. I wonder if the base price will be higher since standard power driver seat and a standard moonroof are rare to find on the base model. It s also odd it doesn t get the full digital display from the Civic on the higher trim. More competition is offering that now.

Like the new look! The front and the back are great to see - love that they haven t ruined the cargo practicality with a raked back like some brands. I also like that they still have a traditional shifter! Looking forward to the full review, thanks Alex & team!

I m not exactly sure what it is but you are definitely looking super red under one of these cameras. Seems like the exposure is a good bit off

Alex says, If you've ever wanted your car to look similar going forwards and backwards this trim might be for you. He cracks me up!
